NO! We pay you, not you pay us! Stop this Thai rhetoric Immigration.
Get more Thai Immigration Staff! Full stop! But 100 x 0 is still 0.
Why should people check in 3-4hrs if they only have a 1 hr flight? Get real!
Agreed, This airport from day one--AT WHAT COST--has been a complete disaster, all these events are not hick-ups it is just simple not knowing how to run an airport.  from day 1, taxi mafia-scams-king power monopoly, scanners scam-ground preparations to carry heavy weights-RUNWAYS.... mega money changed hands and cheap charlie construction,  air con problems at immigration-lack of staff- no direct transport to connect Don-M.airport. overcapacity now ??? in how many years, in all departments a sorry state of planning.  THEY WANT tourists here   ___it is a JOKE.  they do not deserve them, TAT......AOT.....THAI Airways.  Now this ridiculous set up at immigration, it's about correct numbers of staff-that are properly trained for the job. All these smiles excuses--and it's ok are not on.  When you go through imigation you want it as quick as possible, as you are paying for the job being done swiftly, when that is accomplished THEN you can smile and say thanks.  Do not forget impressions that are good will make you return again.

Ok... Regarding Immigration. Let's increase airport tax to 1200THB, use the extra 500 for more staff at the immigration counters and performance bonuses. There's so much 'wasted' Tourist money around here, the extra 500 THB won't hurt.
Airport tax.how many more taxes do you want to add ???  Let AOT subsidize that---or rip off overcharging monopoly King Power.  the simple fact is as my previous post said---this is a new modern airport to give at least 10 years of passenger scope without problems---sorry did I say without problems----if its busy call in the extra immigration--no leave at holiday periods.  Is that difficult,  you dont have 1 check out in a very busy shop---you open up more to relieve the pressure---but Thailand cannot do that --or won't because they are asked to man up.  They have enough immigration ---sod to all those that are spending their holiday money-----MAN up then the check in time needn't be altered .

Come on Lindsay, lighten up. What they really want you to do is spend the day there. After all there's lots of restaurants, shopping and loads of comfortable seating to relax when you get tired.Posted Image

#3885033 400 Police To Keep Security At Rajprasong Red Shirt Rally On Sunday

Interesting that some posters feel that foreign reporters brave enough to report on Thai news and not tow the Government line of spin and propaganda who have received death threats as a result is worthy of mockery.

It is also telling that people seem to castigate CNN and BBC while relying on The Nation, a media outlet that frequently prints total gibberish, and apparently does not have a competent English proof-reader on staff, even though their periodical is in the English language.

I have several friends who own small businesses in the Rajaprasong area and their trade was lively. Certainly there was no shortage of shoppers, in particular students around the Siam Square area when I visited during the peak of the protests.
The local vendors were doing a roaring trade.

Of course, if you weren't there at all during the protests and don't have any first hand experience of the situation on the ground at the time, and don't converse with or know any Thais that own businesses in that area, it would be easy to get completely the wrong impression.

If the Emergency Decree is not enforced, why not just lift it!

And again at Rajprasong, I feel for the shopowners who lost a fortune just a few months ago..

All the small business traders in that area were doing a roaring trade during the protests.

Foreign journalists cause more problems in giving the Red Shirt the  media spotlight. No journalists should be allowed in the area.  Especially if you are from BBC or CNN, Mr. Dan Rivers! Because they are  lobbied by Thaksin!

What a lot of utter nonsense.
