My daughter will be entering Thailand from Malaysia on her Thai passport (with me on my foreign passport), but I cannot find her immigration card. What are the consequences and how long might I be delayed at Thai immigration? She had one which was stamped out of the country but now it's lost...
Thanks.
PS We'll be entering by car at the Sadao border, overland.

Lost Immigration Card

What Are The Chances...
2011-10-26 17:07:07
Where is it most likely to take place?
How about underground car parks? Had Yai's had it a few times recently...
Entrepreneurs out there to make electricity from the water flow while the flood flows continue?
Folks to think of a cleaning solution for when the floods have gone?
What to do with all those sandbags if people don't choose to keep souvenirs/save them for the next flood?
BTW, no disrespect to the afflicted, but you can laugh or cry, and I like to make the best of any situation...

Extending A 14 Day Stamp - Options
2011-10-19 18:43:56
Is there any way of extending an overland tourist stamp (14 day validity) from within Thailand for more than a week? Mine runs out on the 25th October. It transpires that I need to stay for another week or so, on top of my 14 day stamp. (I'm waiting for a business visa from Malaysia, so cannot re-enter there until said visa application is processed (about 10 days or so.)
I'm in Nakhon Sri Thammarat (NST) so the next best option for a new 14 day stamp would be Victoria Point via Ranong - does anyone have any recommendations for visa run companies? I could ride to Krabi and get the minivan from there if need be. Is there still such a thing as the Andaman Club as a visa renewal option?
While I'm married to a Thai and have children, I don't think I can qualify at the drop of a hat for a Non-Imm O as so far, the free 14 day stamp has been sufficient each time, and normally, if I know I'm going to be here for more than a coupla weeks, I get a 60 day tourist visa from the Thai embassy in KL. This time I didn't... doh. (Haven't done it for at least a year now.) Plus, as I say, I cannot pop over to Penang to redo longer term visas, and I hear Vic Point only does simple tourist visas - don't know if that's the reality, but a fresh 14 day stamp should do for me.)
Any advice is as always greatly appreciated - Cheers!

Which Bank For Non-Imm O?
2011-06-02 01:42:54
I plan to apply for a NIO visa (married with Thai wife and children) via the KL embassy. I've heard different reports recently of how much is needed and in which bank. Is it 400k bt or 800k bt; does it have to be in a Thai bank account in my name or the wife's; how long does the money have to be there (3 months prior to visa application or just a week); and can the money be in a Malaysian or UK bank instead of a Thai bank?
Many thanks!
Many thanks!
Getting A Thai Licence Translated Into English
2011-03-25 13:20:19
I've heard that it's possible to go to a Thai driving-licence issuing office and get a normal Thai licence translated into English, so that it looks exactly the same but is in English, to be used as an acceptable licence for insurance purposes in Malaysia and Singapore. It would effectively be a valid IDL for those countries.
Apparently, if translated from a 5 yr Thai licence, it would be valid for the same duration as the original, so costing a lot less and lasting a lot longer than a normal IDL from the normal route (home country, post-office etc).
Has anyone heard about or done this?
