I went there with my girlfriend just to check the place out and was pleasantly surprised ! Very nice location, good service and really tasty food. Also, had a few strong cocktails at half price during happy hour I think happy hour was from four to six thirty not quite sure but it really was pleasant just sitting around enjoying the atmosphere. 2 thumbs up for me!

Where is the best place to die?
The answer is easy; Thailand is a haven for death.
All you need to do is: chain smoke the cheapest lung blaster cigarettes, drink one or two bottles of Thai gut rot whiskey per day, indulge yourself with hard core body organ degenerating drugs and have lots of unashamed, unprotected sex with the lowest class of Thai prostitutes.
All this is available at affordable rates, so it`s not only the wealthy that can indulge.
I would guess that a relatively healthy person would take a year to succumb to all the diseases and die.
Another good point is that funerals can be basic and low cost, ashes to ashes, dust to dust in 20 minutes at any local temple for around 15000 baht.
Of course there are no guarantees that the last few months of life wont be a great suffering of pain and agony, but think of all the fun you’ll have at the very beginning.
Other sure means of suffering a premature death, is to always stand up for your rights and be ready to fight anyone in an instant and for the fashion conscious, don’t bother with the wearing of those cumbersome, inconvenient motorbike helmets, as they can clamp your style.
So for suicide, whether intentional or unintentional, Thailand is the perfect venue for ending your life.

Well your feelings are your feelings and no one can deny you them.
What I don't understand is why with the attitude.
"I hate lies and cheating of any sort which is why I find Thailand and the Thais so disgusting."
Why you would stay here. I mean no disrespect or any of that get out stuff. I am genuinely curious as to why one would stay here with that attitude towards the country he lives in and the people in it. I see you have been on Thai Visa seven years you have me by one but that seems like a long time to put up with the conditions you claim to live in. I know for myself if I had to live in those conditions I would be out of here like a shot.
When I say 'lies' from Thais you only have to look at the politics from Thaksin downwards, the corruption so that every shop in Baan Tawai has to pay the forestry guys 1000b a month under the counter (that's 500 shops) and if you want a permit to do anything you have to pay 3x the cost of the permit as a backhander and then the cost of the permit before anything happens, look at the scheming girls in the bars and its not limited to them: Hi-so girlss cheating farangs so they can buy even more expensive handbags. Open your eyes, these people have no morals whatsoever. I've posted here about my ex-wife who even though she is a scammer and cheater and liar has a management job in international relations at the main government hospital in a city close to here. And so it goes on ..........
Your post probably offends many people here. But, being a realist what you write rings very true.
The level of corruption and common lack of morals in Thailand is quite sickening. However, to balance this out, for each negative aspect there are numerous positive aspects which continue to make Thailand a very pleasant place to be.
In order to have a balanced opinion, we need to take a balanced view…. The good, the bad, the ugly, this thread goes to show that this exists in Westerners as in Thai’s.
The deciding factor is often Money – it’s the route of many problems, and for some its difficult to make honestly – Thai’s and Westerners both need money to survive and with a lack of it comes a certain level of desperation which replaces scruples and breeds questionable morality, born from this desperation are the con-men and women of any race, nationality and gender.
You are right, it is disgusting. But, it’s just more open and easier to spot in Thailand than most places…. which almost makes it more tolerable and honest in a bizarre way.

Such people aren't interested in running a business designed to give good value over the long term, they want to get out on their yacht nice and early, not a care in the world.
And who's hurt really? People who think to keep fit they need a hi-so air-conditioned loud disco environment, most treating it more like a status symbol and social club than a gym.
I would feel hurt, if i was not stupid enough to forget to renew my cali wow last year. I almost never used it because i got my own gym at home. But still people who paid for a lifetime and only enjoyed it for a year are hurt. Not the ones who use them longer.
But i did not think cali wow was hi so. They had some decent free weights and some nice machines too. Besides when i workout i dont care much about anything except training.

If there are still some persistently aggressive dogs then pepper spray is unnecessary. The OP needs to get piece of 3/4" garden hosepipe about 3'-4' long, fill it with sand and attach that to the bike frame so that it is accessible and easy to detach and use. Next time the dogs come running up, suss out the leader and give the mutt a resounding whack on the nose with the improvised cosh. The nose is the most sensitive part of the dogs head and a well aimed blow will have the bugger running off whelping and barking. These dogs will always make a show of barking aggressively at the OP but that's from the memory of getting whupped and they won't be coming close any more.
I walk my two dogs twice a day in our local village. One is a rotweiler cross on a leash and another dog running free. There is one particular dog we pass every morning and this one used to attack the dog running free until one day I accidently
solved.
There are somethings you should do when confronted by an aggressive dog:
1 Never show fear to them.
2 Never turn and run away, you are just asking to be bitten.
3 It is better for you to use an aggressive approach than to show fear.
4 I also carry with me a heavy stick around a meter long and show the dog I have it.
5 Never take your eyes off the dog until you are sure that the danger is over.
There are many more things that you should keep in mind but remember that not all dogs are the same and some will not react as expented so you have to be prepared for any eventuality.
I am totally opposed to poison for any reason. If you have witnessed a dog dying from poison as I have, I hope you would feel the same.Poisoning was rife in my village until I found out who was doing it and suggested that people were aware who was responsible.Have not heard of anyone losing a dog since.
The reason they did it was because some dog was stealling shoes from the front of thier house. In the period that poisoning was rife I lost three dogs over two years and never gained one spare thong.

We find ourselves in a society that is leapfrogging from following bullocks around fields to driving high speed cars on fairly modern highways without generations and generations, let alone resources, to train themselves to drive. We who've had a century's worth of ancestors to evolve rules and raise us to follow their learning and yet we expect all others on the planet to be 'wise' in our ways in a fraction of the time?
They're climbing enormous learning curves (OK, sometimes curbs) here, steep everywhichway. I think that everyone who's not a newbie in Thailand should know that there's a risk involved in transportation - other places are worse yet on this pellet of muck.
I can recall clearly once upon a time in America, when a fellow quite drunk, after driving fast into a trolly island's steel abutment, would suffer nothing worse from the police than a scolding while said officers assisted the looped couple to their home. No seat belts, so my mom had a scar on her nose for a while.
Sheesh!
