Oh and in college, 1976, we used an IBM 360 wth punch cards then the university (of Rhode Island) bought some new mainframe called an AS/5?. That is how I learned Fortran. Submitted the pile of punch cards, to the computer room. Waited an unkown amount of time for some output. Place was staffed of course by Graduate Assistants or whatever. No set schedule on when you programming job would get submitted. One thing about that though, you learned to write your programs correctly. You could not afford the loss of time to resubmit. I developed some very good habits. That is one thing the modern programming kids are missing. They write crap and re-do everything. It wasn't until the next semseter that I found out there were CRTs and one could write and load and run programs in real time!

even in the west they donot charge, chargeing someone is up to the courts.
No its not...a court determines somes guilt or innocence based on evidence presented and if found guilty they decide the punishment....they do not charge somebody, a court of law is a vehicle for accountability....this is the reason for my comment orginally....a court does not charge anyone for murder....the police working in conjunction with a prosecutor lay the charge
In the USA, only the civilian District Attorney's office DA can actually file charges and bring somebody to a court. Police "charges" are not the same. It is supposedly fundamental to the US law that the arresting bodies can't also be judge, jury and exectioner. That is why many people object to the recent laws that have allowed more up front siezures of property and assets by Police without what many consider "Due Process"

I am sure there is some camera surveillance footage available somewhere, maybe even some undercover cops in the crowd. People (criminals) sometimes forget that their targets are being watched by others also. 32 cell phones and 500,000 baht sure seems worth investigating though. If you have any familiarity with surveillance work such as at concerts, public places, casinos etc, it is not too hard to see people that stand out because they are NOT watching the events or the games. Try it next time you are at some public gathering.

Yep. The idea is to make sure nothing extra gets put in your luggage that YOU didn't put in there. Don't want to be somebody's mule and be transporting something. Also it can help any claim you have if something is found missing upon arrival at your destination and if the wrap is missing. Take a photo at the check in desk and at the luggage on arrivals.
After watching a few episodes of "Locked up Abroad" recently on TV, I envision taking as many precautions as possible. Usually I just travel with a carry on. I keep an old large hard American Tourister suitcase around. The one that used to be in the old TV commercial where the "Gorilla" would be cut in and shown tossing the luggage around as a bell hop or cabbie. I still laugh at that. Nothng against soft luggage, but when I bring my suitcase it is the rock. Amazingly on one trip it somehow still got massively dented along the hinge line. Takes quite a whack for that to happen.

I also used an Osbourne "portable" PC. If nothing else I got a lot of weight training carrying the thing back and forth from the car to work and moving it around the office. Wordperfect for word processing as I recall.
