If you are using VPN's only for streaming video from the main providers.

I would forget using VPN's a far better service is usvideo.org which will give u maximum throughput as the stream goes direct to your home not through a third party VPN.

Much better streaming experience here in Thailand and also the added bonus you don't need a US and UK VPN or indeed need to switch VPN's to few content from those 2 countries.

Although some users on here will tell u the content is too limited :)  and VPN is the way to go.

Stream Netflix in HD to Thailand through a VPN is very very very very rare, using the above service it is constant.

There is a week free trial as well.

Highly recommended for use with Boxee Box, Roku, PS3, Apple TV etc.

U can use your PS3 to view BBC content and your Roku to view Netflix, Hulu Plus without having to leave the sofa or reconfigure VPN's for country change at streaming rates of about 2x+ you get through a VPN here in Thailand.

negreanu, thanks for this, it works great.  You're right, it works much better than a VPN for streaming video.  I just finished watching F1 live, and the picture was almost perfect.  I lost the connection only once over 2 hours, for 30 seconds or so, compared to every 5-10 minutes using a VPN.  There may still be times when a VPN is needed- but not for general video streaming as you described.

I also use StrongVPN with 3BB Premiere.  I just switched to a UK server which was very slow, so I had to try a different server.  As you probably know, this can be cumbersome with StrongVPN.

I also use Witopia.net which works well, *much* easier to switch servers, is based in the USA with servers in many countries, and is competitively priced.  I recommend them as an alternative.  I have used it to stream video from the USA, and it generally works well.
