no matter how stupid and bad the stabbing by the irishmen were... those thugs had it coming. Its just karma's way of punishing the evil thais

You don't even know what really happened and are just assuming the Thais were at fault and are 'evil'. What karma is that? The Thais be out of the hospital in a few days and will be as good as new in weeks. The two idiots however will probably have a few years in jail with lots of 'evil' Thais to play wth them. Now THAT'S karma. And it's a real bitch.
I hope you are sooo right ... A lot of people on here keep telling how evil and bad the thai are. If you don't like thai, or the government, or the police, or whatever, nothing is stopping you guys from leaving the country, right ? So stop anoying us with your bull****. Those girls had every right to fear for there own safety, so we clearly can see from what those irish did. Throw them in Bangkok Hilton for some years !

Thailand roads are not safe.

I repeat for the white people looking to visit here - Thailand roads are not safe.

Every single road in the Kingdom is crazy dangerous. I risk my life driving my car 15 minutes to Macro. At least 10 speeding pickup trucks, buses, or 10-wheelers fly past me on every trip (at 130-150km+).

Thailand roads are not safe.
Agreed!  I spent the last 2 years behind the wheel while living outside of Bangkok and I eventually lost count of the near death experiences I narrowly escaped.  Most of the time it was the commercial vehicles (buses, trucks, and vans) I had to watch out for as the majority of the drivers operate their vehicles like they were in Formula One.  Posted Image

I've been driving in Bangkok and neighbouring towns, villages, ... for over 6 years now and I've never had any accident ... so go figure. And I 'm not Thai. By the way, did you ever drive a car in Saoudi Arabia ? They are far more dangerous drivers then Thai. Oh yes, and I've driven there also with no accidents.

It's been a while since I was last on here, but things still seem to be the same : the majority of you posters all know better and know the answer to everything. The police are doing there job with the means possible (and yes I know that there's corruption also), and journalists are also just guessing what woulda coulda shoulda happen...
Accept the country for what it is ... nothing will change soon anyway (atleast not in our lifetimes) ... nobody's keeping you from moving back home, is there ?

Dutch, Thai, Eastern, Western makes no difference, it is mother nature will decide herself.  The only thing I know is no one knows as I prepare for the worse and hope for the best.
Finally some-one with a rational reply to this disaster that is going on in Thailand. It's a good thing that Holland and other countries are willing to help, because they have the knowledge about these things.
Not so for most of the comments I,ve read on here. Everybody seems to know better and they all have the solution, right ?
Well, nobody is stopping you guys from going to those flooded places and tell the victims (and soon to become victims) what to do, is there ?
It,s nature ! And you just need to sit this one out. Evacuations are the only solution (ie New Orleans, etc) ... You can't stop this from happening.
But as most of you are implying : it's probably the government's fault...

There are many examples of people whom have addapted pretty well in Thai prison(s). It just depends on how you absorb the different way of life inside those fences.

The artical stated they would have to serve 8 years in a Thai jail before they have the option to serve out the remainder in a Swedish Luxury 4 Star establishment. Lots of people would not last 8 years in a Thai jail but they both look like tough Vikings.
