I was in a pub on Saturday night. Had a few...
I noticed two quite large women by the bar.
They both had strong accents so I asked, "Hey, are you two ladies from Scotland?"
One of them chirped: "It's WALES you friggin' idiot!"
So, I immediately apologized and said ..., "Sorry, are you two whales from Scotland?"
That's the last thing I remember.

Thai Registered Car Into Singapore?
2012-05-07 08:36:17
Anyone got any experience of driving down to Singapore?
I'm looking at a fairly long (3-6 month) job in Singapore and (whilst the city has a superb public transport system) would like to have the freedom of my own vehicle.
I understand the procedure for getting into and driving through Malaysia, but how about Singapore? Accommodation will be hotel / serviced apartment so parking should not be an issue.
Thoughts anyone? Or just leave the car at home?
Gold (Actually Any Colour) Flex

Help!!
I'm looking for some flex for my pendant light fittings. We have very high ceilings (>5m), the flex dropper that comes with the fittings will leave them as a hazard to low flying aircraft so I need to fit longer droppers.
The flex in question is 2 x 0.75mm2 round (about 5mm in diameter) and is gold in colour. We need about 35m for all our droppers.

Anyone seen something like this around BKK? It's not absolutely essential that it's gold in colour but that would be best match to the fittings.

Fbi Warns Hundreds Of Thousands Of Web Users Worldwide May Lose Access To The Internet...
2012-04-22 06:58:37
I don't think this has been reported on TV yet.
Hundreds of thousands of people could lose access to the internet by July following a hackers' scam - and they don't even know it.
Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world.
In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system is to be shut down.

Technical Translation, English To Thai, Reasonable Rates?
2012-04-15 17:02:04
As per the topic title, I have a short (3 page) document that I need translating from English to Thai.
One of the chaps in the office will do this for me as a 'homer' so I'll be paying him some beer money.
Since this document is somewhat technical in nature I was wondering what a reasonable beer rate would be.
