Noisy Honda Civic
2012-05-18 17:59:33
We have a current-model Honda Civic about 5 years old, a few thousand clicks short of 60K km. About 5K km ago we replaced the factory tires with Yokohama Earth-1 205/55R16 tires, same dimensions as the originals.
We didn't notice any problems until recently, when I started noticing a quite loud resonance noise from the rear end, starting around 50 km/h.
We had LPG installed recently and at first I thought it had something to do with that, but after a test drive the mechanic said the tires were the problem and that I should get them aligned.
1) Is this likely to be the problem? I don't think I've ever had wheel alignments go out of whack before.
2) Could it be something else, like the gearbox or differential? Are there any known problems like that with Honda Civic?
3) If it is indeed a matter of wheel alignment, can anyone recommend a good place in Pattaya to have wheels realigned?

Gym Equipment - Weights - Dumbbells Etc.

We'd like to get some heavier weights for our village gym, but the usual gym equipment shops only have imported chromed dumbbells that are very very expensive.
Anyone know of a Thai supplier of such equipment? Preferably in Pattaya but if not available here then somewhere else?
Bike Rental Pattaya

Anyone know of a reputable place where I can rent a scooter from tomorrow Monday morning to Friday evening, while my car is being repaired?
The best would be if they could deliver it at the garage (on Sukhumvit road).

Multi Inverter Daikin Ac For Small House
2012-01-09 02:37:41
I need to install AC in a small house and it has been very interesting to read through some threads in this forum and learn about inverter AC's.
The house will need AC for 2 bedrooms of 12 and 16 m2 and one 40 m2 living room. We would normally not use AC in bedrooms and living room at the same time and aim for around 26C. Judging by this post that would be 7,000 + 9,600 + 24,000 BTU needed.
I understand that it's possible to have just one outside unit with 3 inside units? I really like this idea - I think there must be a lot of advantages with this - lower purchase and service price with just one instead of three units, for starters. I don't think I've ever seen this setup used in Thailand, any reason for that? Any reason not to go that route?
I think we would go with Daiken as it has a lot of people recommending it. As per this page that would mean 2 x 09 + 1 x 24 indoor units and one 28 outdoor unit. Does that make sense?
Any recommendations for a good company in Pattaya to do this?
