Here in Don Muang the water seems to be decreasing by a rate of two inches per day, not sure if this is due to the big bag or if there  were no big bag then would it go down faster. The water is still about 3 feet in the soi outside my house.
not sure where you are in Don Muang, but does anybody have any news about the water along Dechatungha ?

Thai floor areas are solely a product of their imagine only and really have litttle to do with actual living areas. Of course the real usable area should be based on internal floor sizes but you will find in Thailand it is generally measured using an elasticated tape externally. Of course if you look at a house area you will find they consider the area used for car parking is also part of the livable area. Best to check and measure yourself which of course doesn't help you when looking at adverts but a good rule of thumb for real usable area is assume 75% of what is advertised.

Did you test the unit in the store before leaving? If so, and it was obviously working, isn't it possible that you have made a mistake in the installation of the unit?

Getting back to the business in question.

While the call out fee is a little on the high side in my opinion, I cannot see how this company is wrong when the product you purchased only has a RTB (Return to base/point of sale) warranty.

Use another example - your 3 month old 32" LG LED TV has a problem, are they going to come out and fix it on site for you. No. Are they sharks?

Note: Mahajak charges (or used to many years ago) 10,000B for a service call which includes one professional AV tech. and one assisstant.

It was delivered to my works so no it was not tested at that time and as I clearly said I did not install it until recently. Also I clearly stated my existing sub works fine ( same make by the way ) so no it's not the install. So if you consider 15,000/10,000 THB is a "little on the high side" then perhaps you have more money than sense, for me I have more sense than money so IMHO then  yes they are sharks. And by the way I have a Samsung LED 55" which developed a fault after 4 months and YES they did come out and fix it for me no problem but of course that was a differant company with obviously better ethics. You work for HIFI Tower by any chance ?

In Topic: Thais Running Red Lights...

When you learn to drive in the UK one thing taught is that when approaching traffic lights be prepared to stop. The opposite is the case in Thailand as they are totally oblivous to any undertsanding of the laws of physics as they actually accelerate and hence would be unable to stop safely anyway.

There are also 3 fundamental things that never allows Thai to drive safely:

First:- Superstitious practice as they consider the more images, amulets, effigies of Buddha etc in there car the more protected they are from reality
Second:- 99% are sitting on their brains
Thirdly:- When anybody buys cars that are no more than an agricultural vehicle conversion, cart springs and all, do you really think they care about safety ?

when you have to cater for the lowest common denominator what do you expect ? It's a Thai run service for Thais. They do not complain as they are brainwashed into not doing so hence the better educated Thais rip them off i.e. many many repeats. Don't complain about the service as they are only suppling it at a level to meet such low aspirations.

Subscribe to Astra if you require a service catering for IQ's above 50
