As long as you are on the visa from the consulate, and not an extension from immigration, you can continue to use that visa elsewhere.

That's not a visa. You'd get a tourist visa at a Thai Consulate.
1000 baht, I believe, good for 60 days. It can be extended at an immigration office for another 30 days for 1900 baht.
Since you don't seem to know about visas, would it be fair to say that you are planning on coming here without one? If so, and without a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days, the airline might not let you board for the flight here.

An O based on marriage is usually okay for the Labor Office to issue a work permit on. That's been my experience in several provinces.
