#5196728 Sunrise Tacos 2Nd Rd. Now Open!

Posted Jingthing on 2012-04-06 19:59:54

Yeah, horrible value! Massive included salsa bar including fruit ones (so desserts included ha ha). Now free chips on the table. They were already offering side chips with many menu items. Taco all you can eat two days a week, pie included. Never has Posted Image getting raped (in the wallet) been so ... delicious!

The food is not for writing home. It is for eating.

Look, if you live in east LA and are coming to Pattaya for two weeks, there is no compelling reason to eat any Mexican food, anywhere in Thailand. Most of us are not in that position.

Come on, now, the plus plus thing has been done to death. Some people boycott plus plus places just for that, some don't. You already know who you are. Pretty much everyone reading this forum knows Sunrise is plus plus, you know going in, so why beat a dead horse?

But we have strayed & I added to that......So as to the topic....Thought police or no?

As I said, if the printed material is just full of ideas or propaganda then it should be legal. But if comes with how-to instructions for killing/hurting people, and the target audience readership is well-known for trying to do just that, then it should be censored/banned/choose your label.

Question: If magazines should be allowed that detail "how to make bombs and blow up infidels", what about magazines that detail other repulsive things: "How to hang a black man", or "Raping Children and intimidating them to remain silent", or "How to tie a homosexual to your car and drive around without killing him too quickly"?

They're all words on a piece of paper. People should be prosecuted for their actions not what they think.

I don't know about anyone else, but me personally, I don't need a politician to tell me that "literature" instructing jihadi-wannabes how to construct bombs for the purpose of blowing up as many people as possible is a "bad thing".
You said it in nutshell Khoeesti ,we all agree with free speech but when it comes to instructing others how to kill and maim for the simple reason they are of a different religion ,then whatever others may think or believe, a line just has to be drawn in the sand.

Yet if you peruse any Military surplus store in the US there you will find many books written by the US military.
things like books on silencers & how they are constructed + much much more.

I agree with Pakboong....crimes start with actual actions not intellectual thoughts nor curiosity.

If left to someone like the islamophobia nuts we have read here...what is next? Do we also dissect religious scriptures to decide if they are in fact pushing hate? They may be interpreted to be inducing murder?

I do not like some things as much as the next person. Whether it be hate speech or most organized religions with their pompous claims of supeiority  Yet I realize it is their right as much as those with opposing views.

It is a slippery slope. I will also say I am constantly amazed by the sheeple who bleat......"Oh I am doing nothing wrong so I have nothing to fear & what ever my government...who I elected...wants me to do I will gladly accept."
This is a sad case of people getting the government they deserve.

I think its sort of funny when people talk about "they" meaning the State as being the enemy. I don't fear the state, I don't break the law so they can tap my phone or read my emails or whatever.

Although I mostly agree with you, there is a happy medium. I do not want the state to be able to abuse the power that the people give them.

#5298296 Nato-Led Force Apologizes For Killing Afghan Civilians

No apology is required, if the government ran there own country properly this would not be happening and the lives of many coalition forces would have been saved.  Bunch of savage cowards!

We are not there because they were not running their country properly, so any attempts at effective governance on their part would not have saved our young men and women.

I am unsure why the military are issuing formal apologies? "Dear Mr Mohammed, this morning we killed your wife and 5 young children, we just want to say sorry...ok! I hope this makes you feel a bit better".   Just what is the point?, try giving him 6 million dollars compensation, then again, if I were him I would spend it on automatic weapons, missiles and RPG's and go looking for some serious pay back. Maybe just let the politicians deal with it, they started this bloody mess.

#5286552 Cia Thwarts Al-Qaeda Plot To Bomb U.S.-Bound Airliner

Posted GentlemanJim on 2012-05-09 19:30:34

So a CIA double agent is the 'son of the Underpant Bomber' (no Hollywood, that is my title for him, you can't use it for the movie). It is funny how people are arrested in the USA for disclosing the identities of undercover CIA agents (as their families are at risk as well), yet here we have the Government themselves issuing the story. Why? Why expose the double agent? Why expose to the rest of the world even the most generic details of the alleged underwear bomb? Why not do what the CIA and FBI and NSA do with every other bit of info they have and call it a state secret, a matter of national security? Why????..Because it is all complete and utter bolleux!

Is this the best they can come up with? If they want to smuggle a bomb on board they are not going to use an underpant bomb are they? If a drug smuggler can swallow 100 condoms filled with heroin, then he can swallow 100 condoms full of PE and stick a det packed with 8 more inches of PE up his ass. This is ALL done to keep the population terrorized, like the other underpant bomber, the liquids bomber (that was impossible) and the shoe bomber Posted Image Why try and set light to PE in your shoes, which the average terrorist will know does not burn (and you certainly cannot get a primary reaction) when you can empty 1 liter or two of duty free vodka on your seat and light that no problem at all. They treat us like fools and sadly for the most part we not only welcome them in doing so, we actually play along. BS!!

Fighting these kinda wars isn't impossible or pointless, exactly. It just requires a long term approach.

Your whole post was well stated

But when I read the last line I would add that the costs have to be looked at these days from a risk/reward viewpoint also.
Because it will in the end be quite pointless if it means speeding up the financial collapse.

History has some very clear lessons especially when dealing in this region.
OBL clearly stated his goal & to watch what now unfolds I would say it is in fact being achieved.

So at the end of the day what really is the reward? What really is the risk?

So in essence Flying what you are Implying is that more cannot be done in this war against terrorism?, that,s it is it?

Basically Colin....John Wayne was an actor............say all you want about making them pay.

What would you call a win in Afghanistan/Pakistan etc?

Because I will lay any bet you want that in the end it will be the same.

Like years ago when it was over...Charlie was sitting in the rice paddies in his black pajamas laughing.
Parents who lost sons & daughters were crying...vets went home without limbs & cancers caused by the poisons they dropped in large quantities from the skies.

For what? The rich got richer supplying tools of the trade.....that is all

Yet what ever happened to the bad guys that they who risked their lives spent decades chasing?
Funny they dont seem so bad once they left.

There is no war on terror...........

This story is complete and utter concocted crap. Funny how it is originating in the Yemen, and where do the CIA now need an unlimited budget to operate drones. The US has had a policy for many years of keeping it's population terrorized. In the 50's and 60's they got away with it, but in the electronic age it is utter sh*te, and most sensible people realize it. They take us all for bloody idiots. Perhaps a war with Iran is a mighty bit tricky at the moment (as they would fight back!!) so maybe as Obama needs a big crisis to get through the election , we will see an invasion of Yemen instead now. That would be a lot simpler and everyone can cheer rah rah rah!

Good to know that we no longer have to water board a confession from these guys. This guy has to bring the number of masterminds in the Cole bombing well into the double digits. We now just get them with the bug zapper as they drive home from work.

Kind of a 007 license to kill deal ;)

#5273180 Obama In Afghanistan: Defeat Of Al-Qaeda "Within Our Reach"

Posted Steely Dan on 2012-05-04 14:24:46

It is indeed a coincidence that Al Qaeda are close to defeat in an election year. Only today I read an article stating OBL was apparently unhappy at the disorganization of some elements of Al Qaeda and especially unhappy with the zeal some were slaughtering fellow Muslims, especially in Pakistan, instead of concentrating on targeting Americans. Coming to think of it this may have been born of frustration not being able to hit back at drones, which makes me even more in favour of them. I guess I will as a precaution leave my AK47 at home when I next do a visa run though. :)

The Washington Post reported this week that the CIA wants permission to be able to strike suspected terrorists in Yemen using its drones even if it does not know who they are.

Watch out any indigenous tribes people that carry AK 47's for security and personal safety. Everyone's going to be on the hit list for a drone attack now.  Isn't this all too much big brother-ish? Now moving in to Yemen to carry out drone attacks on people even if they don't know who they are?

Every time something like this is sanctioned, we all become a little more desensitized to the constant forceful erosion of our freedom and liberty, and then in 15 years........gazump! and non of us will have seen it coming

Am I the only one to think that workers do not deserve any salary hike in this country ?

Shouldn't they show more interest and responsability in their work before expecting any salary increase ?
Have you considered how you would feel working for 150/200 baht a day? I'm surprised that Thai people on minimum wage bother to do anything and I'm not surprised that they try and do the least possible! Perhaps a hike in salary might make for a person to work harder? Of course some decent training wouldn't go amiss either!

No offense but it seems that you don't know so much Thai at work...

I could pay them 10 times more in my company but they still wouldn't do anything more and just suddenly disappear as they always do !

I  seem remember  in my School days having an History lesson about the Roman Historian/Senator Tacitus AD14 to68 who said "If you want peace sometimes you have to be prepared to fight for it"  I believed it then as I still do to this day ..

Ain't history fun, glad you've come round to revisiting your history books!

The actual quote is "Si vis pacem, para bellum" [if you wish for peace, prepare for war] and came from Vegetius in the late 4th century AD.

Having put such words into actions for a couple of decades I quite agree, but to quote another cliche "choose your enemies wisely, as you will become like them". Ironically an Arab proverb, date unknown, but very resonant today.
