#5328554 Help, Good Lawyer Required For Real Estate-Condo Rip-Off!

Posted prefabs on 2012-05-24 19:11:03

I as advised long ago to get an out of town lawyer, preferably Bangkok. More expensive, but not scared of, or in the pay of the Real Estate mafia. Wish I had taken that advice

#5329484 Lady Gaga Fans Gush, Critics Blast Fake-Watch Tweet: Bangkok

Posted StefanBBK on 2012-05-25 06:50:24

Lot of fuzz about nothing. Totally innocent comment. How many tourists would say the same really?
If she wanted to be controversial with her tweet, she could have written some other truth, that embarrasses the country more than faked Rolexes... Perhaps just one or two of the BP headlines.

#5326599 Thailand's DSI Chief Is Proving To Be A Powerful Political Tool

Posted Roadman on 2012-05-24 07:33:45

Head line should read "Yet another example of Thai political corruption"

The words democarcy and Thailand do not belong anywhere near each other. The governance of the country is a joke.

#5303915 Thai Police Officer Arrested, Warrant Out For Superintendent On Cash-Delivery...

Posted Pseudolus on 2012-05-16 07:08:23

"He ordered the two police officers temporary suspension from duty and a probe panel set-up to investigate them, which could expand to others involved in the case"

Surely this should read

"Both officers are now in custody and are likely to be charged over the coming days"

Appalling.

The fact is that there is no rule of law in this country. Your house will never be secure

Who really cares? I've seen homeless Thais but I've never seen anybody start a thread about them...
Most of them (the Thais as well as the Caucasians) strike me as being good-for-nothing, lazy bums.
Given the choice between working or living off of others they choose the latter.

Oh, and the counter argument that "farangs" aren't allowed to work in Thailand is a pretty lame excuse. I'm not Thai and I work here (legally).

You are a very sensitive person Posted Image

And your post is what I call "good for nothing". The fact that people care is a negative in your eyes??!! Give me a friggin' break! They still have a right to exist and live their life even if you do not approve and feel oh so ****** superior.

Many of these guys have mental issues, some temporary after having made bad decisions, some permanent in nature. Also, some never ask anyone for a thing, so describing them as "living off of others" is just wrong.

Real strength is being able to show compassion when you are better off (this time/life around) and this can show itself in many ways, just by sending them a wish that they may find a good way out of this situation, for example.

Right.

So that's resolved then.  It isn't a scam at all and the Air Aisa rep was quite right - the OP not only doesn't understand the business and, in addition, can't read.

Unnecessary comment. This serves no purpose other to get your usage count up. Whether he can read or not is not for you to judge.

#5211692 First Fallout Of Songkran.......

Posted theblether on 2012-04-12 09:19:01

i was out for a dinner last night at a restaurant a fair bit away from Chiang Mai, it was just one of those perfect nights with friends in Thailand, anyway I made my way back into the city on my motorcycle without incident, got to Thapae Gate, ( centre of Chiang Mai ), then took a blast of water in the face from idiot farangs .

A blast of water in the face is fair game during Songkran but I seriously objected to it at 12.45am, I wasn't expecting it at that time of night and to be honest with you I lost the plot, jumped off the bike and gave the farangs a serious mouthful of slightly uncouth language ( well very uncouth to be fair ).

There were about 6 of these guys and they looked like tourists, so to be fair they may not know any better, but I put them straight about assaulting motorcyclists with water at that time of night.

I have been thinking maybe I over-reacted so I now throw it open to my esteemed Thaivisa colleagues to express their view of the situation. Posted Image

You may need to work on those Google skills a little: "corak" is the Turkish word for "arid" or "barren", so it's probably somewhere in Issan. All those people who mentioned Korat might well be onto something...

Drunks will do strange things but of more interest to me is that no ID was found on him.
I feel I should point out that unlike many other countries, Thai law says one must carry a copy (at least) of a passport or a Thai ID card - if not the original. I recommend that all foreigners get a credit card size copy of front passport page and latest visa. Costs about 60 baht to get done in plastic and easy to keep in a wallet.

Are you for real??

I guess this was the first thought on this guys mind prior to jumping/falling off a bridge onto railway lines. Shame on him for not having any I.D on him.

If I was to jump off a bridge onto a railway track to end my life I would (try to make sure it was higher than 6 metres and ) not care if I was anonymous or not.

The footage captured two of the attackers on a pink Yamaha Fino, but Pol Colonel Itthiphol Atchariyapradit called on the media to not publish the footage in hopes of preventing the attackers from altering the appearance of the motorbike.

We got you on camera senselessly killing this man, we know you were riding a pink Yamaha Fino, but we won't show you a picture of your bike because only then will you think to alter its appearance... Glad these guys are on the case.

I can't believe these "what about the smell?" posts.

A corpse will cease to "smell" after about a month in this climate. Once it has dessicated/decomposed there will only be a "smell" if you get up close to it.
About a year ago there was a stench around my house so foul that when the wind blew I thought I would gag and vomit. When we walked out the front door the smell was unimaginable. The neighbor across the street even came over one day asking if we knew where that smell was coming from as it was too much for them. We looked all over our yard, theirs, and at the house next-door which was vacant at the time but couldn't find anything. About a week later I was on the upstairs balcony one day  and looked down and there it was; a huge Tokay had died and fell onto the top of the metal overhang above the carport. Not only was the smell unbelievable but the rotting corpse took off the paint, corroded the metal, and today you can look up at the metal overhang and see the sun through the tiny little holes exactly where the Tokay was.

So again, if a human corpse was rotting in a plastic trash bin in a bathroom, the smell would even be noticeable by the neighbors I think, let alone the visitors to this guy's home, some of whom have stated on this forum that they were in his house and smelled nothing. And then, the decaying corpse would rot right through the plastic bottom of the bin - especially with the acid they mentioned in the OP.

The chance that bin was in there for 2 years with a corpse inside, I think, is not possible.

How much do you want to bet that the coroner will not be able to confirm if the bones are those of the woman??? Something stinks and in this case I don't think it's the corpse!

Elektrified, I have had a similar experience with a small mouse that died in the roof space above the electrical cabinet.

The smell was unbearable. I had to cut a hole in the roof to get to the little bugger.

I just can't believe that a body in a wheelie bin, in a locked basement would not give off the worst smell possible, especially with the heat and moisture.

With 2 years to lie awake at night and think of ways to dispose of a body, I can't believe he did nothing about it.

So, he was either really stupid and lazy with bad sinuses...or the wheelie bin was not there long.
I agree 100%.

What I find most amazing about this story is, that the Phucket police apparently did very little if anything, despite (or because of?) the fact that this woman was married to a police officer... There may be more, much more to the picture than meets the eye.
