I had my Motorola Defy Plus rooted. I allowed Motorola to update my phone and found that it had installed Android Version 2.3.6. My phone is no longer rooted and the common rooting programs no longer work. I downloaded the big one, Unlock Root and get the message that it failed to get shell root. The original root program also doesn't work.

It's really not a big problem because my battery life is still VERY good. Nearly a week with my normal usage. Motorola also put some bloat programs back on but they apparently are not eating my battery charge. Everything still works except Super User and the uninstall program. Googling found that I am not alone and other brand phones have the same problem with Android 2.3.6. I have not set up and used the Motoblur program since I reset the phone to the original factory specifications.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and have you fixed it?

I'm going to buy a TV with a USB input. I have a 3.5 inch 2 TB hard drive with many movies. A friend told me to be careful because the USB hard drive will not work on some TV's. He also said that a USB stick would work on most that have the USB input. If the TV doesn't work with the external hard drive, that would not be a deal breaker because I can easily copy movies from the hard drive to a USB stick.

Recommendations please.

I was using AIS for my Internet connection and it was working fine. I use an APN toggle. It simply quit working. I put the AIS sim in my Nokia and it connects to the Internet fine.

I deleted the APN widget and AIS sim still doesn't work in my Android phone.

I put my Dtac sim in the Android phone and it works fine. I downloaded the APN toggle again and it works fine. I tried the AIS sim again and it still doesn't work. I rechecked the mobile settings and they are still the same as when the AIS sim worked.

A call to AIS was a waste of time. They said everything is fine. I told them the Dtac sim was working properly and got no comment.

Jimmy's health has not been good for a number of months. He passed away Saturday in the Loei government hospital. He happily lived in Nong Hin for the past four years.
