Lots of people will tell you lots of things but in Thailand the reality is that although you will find someone to sell you a policy, you still will not have the insurance that you assume that you have bought.  If the bike is stolen, you will be expected to prove that it has been stolen and its absence from where you say you left it does not count as proof.  Even if you can pass this stage you will not get any money as they will now need to wait to see if it turns up...  It probably will in about 6 months but not as a usable motorbike that you would want back, but this is Thailand and it is now your bike again even it arrives back in a box...  You will be left wondering what you paid all those premiums for.  Do I sound bitter?  I am because this has just happened to me.

I worked there a few years back and was shocked by how bad it was there.  I saw very young children running all over the place unattended, children left the premises without anyone noticing until hours later etc.  The staff group is a tight club which closes ranks to protect those that are in the group.  It is not a good place to start work.  Say anything about the standard of care and you are out.  It is not a good place to send children or to work.
