Car Battery

2012-02-13 17:17:06

the puwa-mobile will need a new battery soon. over the years i've bought mid-priced ones here that require maintenance and last maybe 3 years. i want to try a sealed battery (i.e., one that you don't have to add distilled water to) because i suspect it will be made better and last longer. any recommendations on particular brands or models or a price range? i', not asking where to find a battery, but for recommended brands. thanks...puwa

Full Suspension Frameset?

2011-12-14 21:56:41

I've been enjoying my Trek hardtail for the past few years, and have by now upgraded brakes, gears and shifters, wheelset, cranks and pedals etc. The components are great, but I'm starting to feel the limitations of the frame itself on single track. I'm considering going to a full suspension setup, but have no experience with these. Any tips on good deals among the popular brands here? I thought I'd budget 10K baht--is that realistic? How much "roadworthiness" do I lose
when dropping the hardtail in favor of better suspension off road? In Chiang Mai, by the way. Thanks!

Life Sentence For Warm-Up Murderer

2011-01-20 08:21:18

The Chiang Mai provincial court handed down a life sentence to Wuttichai Jaisamak for the 2005 murder of his girlfriend, Benjaporn Pongpew, owner of a gift shop in front of CMU (also a student?--I wasn't sure). This case attracted a lot of attention because, first, the body was found tied to a tree on the CMU campus; second because the convicted is (was?) a major partner in the Warm Up pub; and third because the police investigation stalled for a few years until the girl's family complained and sought the help of the provincial lawyer's council. In the forensic investigation, police managed to trace the "kow dtom" found in the victim's stomach to a particular shop's unique recipe. Here are the stories in Thai at cm108.com.
