for years the law of the gun and the wild west or in this case east applies -- by either a drunken cop - or son of you know who - the easy way to settle any arguement is the "make my day~ and add a nite on the booze with a belly full of mekong or JW and you sure have the right ingredients for trouble - seems the simple way to settle any argements here in the land of smiles - from vocational school disputes - fights over ladies - or what ever -  easy to pull out the odd dirty harry piece - so much for gun control and from what i hear not expsnsive and easy to aquire -  the fight might start in the pub but for sure willl end up on the street  with guns blazing - nothing new - i have even seens guys with guns tucked in their belts buying the nites supply at 7= but then again this is the wild west - and for the up country guys - come spend some time in bkk - you will understand so forget the stupid comments pls - will agree with thequiteman -

I suppose people would rather be ruled by robots. How refreshing to see a human being in politics for a change.
Her oft-repeated sobbing spells make her look weak.  Weak people cannot be in a position as high as hers.
sorry-her sobbing spells dont make her look week - what they do is make her look "human"  pity there were not more like her - i remember a black man in south africa who cried also - he became one of the greatest men in the world and an icon to human suffering --  keep up the good good work Madam PM - we need more like  you ----

Can't see tourists paying for accomodation in advance to secure their reservation

complete guess but i could believe at least half the tourists who come to thailand don't have a clue where they are staying and when. it's one of the reasons the place is so popular as a tourist destination. as if backpackers are going to have guesthouses pre-booked before arriving.
on average most tourists spend only 1-2 nights in bkk on arrival and then depart to destination either east - south or north - most of these tourist will be on the move over the following month or longer will changes in distination being made on a daily basis -- many will leave via BIA but some will also exit via CMX OR phuket - so how is anyone going to predict where and when they will be on any particular day or date and i dont know of any gickgock hostals taking reservations - well maybe times have changed -- going up market --also what about the guy who is here for a 90 tourist visa to visa family but does not have married visa - ie staying with gf -- fiance -- plenty of these around - TIT clear to see that not a real lot of thought or logical thinking was given to this latest thai wisdom -- sure it dream up my some lame brain looking for promotion -- interesting to see how long this one lasts -- maybe end of sept maybe >>

Thanks for your review...
I have to admit that since the "Grand Pacific" -they used to have a nice Mediterranean cuisine buffet- has been revamped into "Westin":
I haven't visited the premises!
with regard to lazy
in reply to BKKGASTRO - not a very fitting name for a so called bkk food critic - we do have enough gastro around to satify all needs
i was just wondering as a serious diner as to the qualifications of bkkgastro = is these reviews professional based critique or are u just commenting as a lay person on your own perception of what good food should be persented like, taste like and be priced relative to the particular dish and the venue -
