Try Apple Retreat or Thai Garden Inn. They are across the river, hence is more quiet but close enough for you to walk to the nightlife and enjoy yourselves.

This is NOT TRUE. The mini-vans are still running from Kanchanaburi to BKK. I have just called the mini bus company one minute ago to verify your statement here and was told that it is not true. And my guests from Bangkok arrived today by private car themselves. So yes, it is also possible to drive from BKK to Kanchanaburi.

Ko Samui if you like the beach. Or maybe even Cha-am. Or if you can stay away from the beach, try Kanchanaburi.

There are a few good hotels there like Asian Hotel and Lee Garden Plaza. These are quite central, so there is a lot of shopping and activities there too.

I have a lot of problems with the wall pool tiles of a pool I inherited from a previous owner. I have just scrubbed clean the tiles, refilled my pool with fresh water and after two weeks, the tiles are turning yellow again. Would your pool doctor know what to do?
