Chaiyaphum - Modern Building Supplies

2012-03-02 12:49:00

Does anyone know of any modern style stores for Tiles, Kitchens etc in the Chaiyaphum area? Something along the lines of Global House, Home Pro, Home Works, Boonthavorn etc.

I've managed to search for GH but the nearest one is in Kon Kaen which is about an hour and half away. Bit too far for a quick trip. Upto now, for the building materials we've used local suppliers but for the finishing touches, i.e. floor and wall tiles, kitchen cabinets, I haven't seen anywhere that has a good range of choices.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Posted Image

Paint Colours

2012-02-24 13:42:08

Wonder if anyone could help me out please. Is there a source of paint colours anywhere in Thai?

We are in Saudi and we want the wifes brothers to paint the outside of the new house they are building for us. One colour we want is what we call in the UK Magnolia. I have found this which is beige สีน้ำตาลอ่อน (sĕe náam dtaan òn) but is that really translated as Magnolia or is it a totally different colour alltogether.

There are other colours we want also, but this is the main colour of the outside. For me, this is the big headache part of the house build now.

Many thanks.

Vat In The Uk

2011-10-03 17:19:56

I'm an expat living in Saudi and have claimed a few times for the VAT I have paid in the UK on certain items.

I am just about to sell an House in the UK and the Estate Agent fees are disgusting now, never mind with the added 20% VAT.

As an expat can I claim the VAT back on this also? Or is this type of service exempt?

BoJangles Budget Bungalow in the Boonies

2011-08-30 10:17:25

The Mrs just started this a couple of weeks ago. Anybody have any ideas what colour I should paint the walls  :D

I call this BoJangles Budget Bungalow in the Boonies as I don't want to spend a fortune on a house that will be purely used for when we go up to the village for a couple of days at a time.

I haven't seen it yet but going up next week. It's difficult living in Saudi and trying to keep control of ideas etc. The wife and daughter came over last month when the schools finished in Saudi and she was only supposed to be doing the footings and waiting till I got there, so that i could approve the size and shape. But with the money I sent her she has got this far (her brothers are builders). Hope the rest of the build goes the same way but I can't see it  :D

Help Please

2011-08-28 11:58:40

Bought a new laptop in Saudi a couple of months ago. Come to Thailand a couple of days ago and the wife gave me the camera. I normally just connect it direct through the USB cable but forgot to bring it with me. No problem I thought, so I took out the SD card and put it in the SD card reader on my laptop but nothing. Tried another SD card but also nothing. Tried both SD cards in a friends computer and they both work.

It doesn't seem to be reading or recognising the cards. Is there something I need to switch on first? Any help before I have to trot off to Tutcom would be appreciated.  :jap:
