Oh, didn't know that - I guess the name is a bit misleading then Posted Image I thought it was some sort of feeder competition, I mean I did realize that Luke & Colin good as they are are not actually on ESPN every sunday... Posted Image

Yes, a bit misleading, but TiT, Same Same But Different, right? ;) And racers who do well in Thai Moto3 and have the right connections / support do have opportunities to move up into international racing.

Anyway, Colin and Luke aren't racing in Thai Moto3 but the SB1 race was televised all the same (on Thai TV, not ESPN) :)

Well all Moto3 bikes are single cylinder. Don't know about the made in Thailand part...

http://www.crash.net..._announced.html

Thai Moto3 is not in any way related to international Moto3.

The rules governing Thai Moto3 have nothing to do with any of the international racing bodies that make up the Grand Prix Commission (FIM, Dorna, IRTA and MSMA) and set the rules for international Moto3.

Thai Moto3 is loosely modeled after international Moto3, but beyond the 250cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder requirements, that's about as far as the similarities go.

International Moto3 are racing on pure racebikes like Honda's new $35,000 NSF 250:

Real racebikes aren't allowed in the Thai Moto3 series, so the racers have to make do with the CB'r' 250.

Not exactly ground-breaking technology used here.....its called the "Find IPhone" app which every IPhone user should have installed as standard. Very easy to locate your phone with this app.

#5314112 Pimp My Versys

Posted Hog Head on 2012-05-19 16:35:12

I beg to disagree as this is not how PC Autotuner works
The PC Autotune logs AFR under real world loaded conditions and then suggests a trim to bring the AFR to your specified ratio. It does not change the fuel/ignition maps on its own. This specified ratio can be what ever custom map you enter or a canned map based on variables such as pipe, air filter etc.

It is difficult to imagine any more accurate method than datalogging under actual riding conditions, as opposed to the operator dependent inertia dyno using the test, fiddle, retest, repeat procedure. The PC-V with Autotuner will give you an exact AFR of 13.1 under loaded conditions (specific to your weight) at all RPM and throttle position - what can be more accurate than that?

My personal experience, and from what I have read, suggests that a properly run bike on PC Autotuner is equal to or better than what a good operator can achieve a dyno. This is done at a lower cost, quicker, something that a savy Owner can easily do. Here in CM there is no dyno, and more importantly if there was one, it would need someone who really knows what they are doing.
When you start changing engine internals is where the Autotuner really shines as it is virtually idiotproof.

The Lambda sensor is in fact removed and by-passed so the factory ECU cannot fiddle with the new map, and not because you are running too rich. If it is too rich you have the wrong map and need to go through the Autotune procedure

Does it make a significant amount more power? 7 Hp on a Versys is 10% and IMHO a significant increase. That this is due to the Autouner and PCV alone is questionable, but believable in conjunction with a pipe and air filter/air box mods.

What is not debatable is that one can make the bike run better than the factory as one is not constrained by emissions or noise regulations. On a stock bike the descerning rider will see  smoother running and no dead spots in throttle response. On a slightly modified bike  it is far more noticable and almost a given when one starts increasing air flow through the engine.
Internal engine mods demand changes to the ECU

I thought it was illegal to add charges to a CC and spelled out in Visa usage policies.  I would contact Visa and let them know what's going on.  Used to be that 3% was a standard add on but haven't seen that for a long time now.

Tywais,

VISA (and MasterCard) will allow a merchant to have a regular price that already includes the 3% and then do a 3% discount for cash. They just don't let merchants have a regular cash price and then add on the 3% surcharge. The merchants don't like the allowable way since it makes their goods look 3% more expensive to everyone when they advertise.

Right.  And I think they make a lot more sense with that position than the credit card companies do.  Why should everyone be overcharged just to accommodate the plastic-money squad?

No RRP from Ap Honda yet. Here at Sumet we are selling them 145,000 (includes tax, registration, third person, insurance, one year of theft insurance, and a Bilmola motocross helmet). People in our area haven't been showing much interest though, so I think we may be dropping our prices soon. I think after everything settles down, prices are going to be cheaper in urban areas than out in rural areas. There is going to be more demand for this bike in places like Issan, but less so in places like Bangkok. Kind of the opposite of what happened with the CBR 250. I can't say what our cost for this bike is, but I can say that you will never see it lower than 120,000. If you really want this bike, my advice would be to wait and shop around for a deal that is right for you. However, If you really want to drive it out of the showroom today, send me a PM. Best of luck.

Brian

So they may end up selling them cheaper than the "Quick, get 'em while they on special before they go up" promotional price of B134 990?
I really don't think there is/was any special promotion price it's only certain dealers saying that to get the early sales , dealers can sell them for what they like or whatever they think they can get for them nothing wrong with that I run a business myself and that's what we do it is after all about making profits

Great to see that initial reviews of the new Honda CRF250L are for the most part positive. Looks like Honda may have a winner!

Competition is always a good thing. The KLX250 has owned the 250 dual sport niche in Thailand for years. Perhaps the CRF250L will prompt some upgrades.

Happy Trails!

So I think it's safe too say that if you like red and white buy the Honda, if not buy the Kawasaki.

i have transitioned from a a 2010 er6n to a 2011 ninja 650R to a 2011 versys and the versys is the most complete vehicle out of the lot of them
the er6n was fun and cool looking but to be honest ,it was uncomfortable to go too fast on due to the wind (im 183cm  and  a bit wider than most asians ) so the lack of a windscreen and fairings made a significant differnce

then i went to the ninja 650 and it was a much smoother animal ,especially at speeds of 100-200 it felt like it was designed to do that (unlike the er6n )

then i got a versys and it really is a step above the others  ,that suspension is great over holes, ive been off road a couple of times  doing things no versy was ever designed for
and it has handled itself well for a bike of that height and weight

the bigger tank is a bonus .even though it costs a lil bit more to fill i would take that over the smaller tank on the er6/ninja
i can normally get around 230-250 per tank but of course it depends on the twisting of the wrist :)

consumption i think does  gets worse when you put a new pipe on it with no back pressure ,that was my experience on the
others so i still have the normal can on the versys so far and it sounds like an electric  go-kart buggy

#5256694 Tot Was Down And Yet No Word What / Why

Posted billd766 on 2012-04-28 14:11:15

I lost the internet up here in Khghampang Phet province.

I rang the TOT guys there and they called me back about 10 minutes later to say that their international gateway was down and wold be back around 4.30.

We had a civilised discussion and that was the end to it.

When the internet came back up I rang the guy up and said thank you.

Politeness wins over screaming and whining every time.

Did the OP call TOT and ask what the problem was?
