Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

#5275449 Thai Parliament Quarrel Escalates In Hitler Salute

Can anyone point to any guidelines or rules that gives the Speaker of the House the right to prohibit a speaker from finishing their allocated time or the right to ridicule them - all without pointing to what procedure or rule they use to deny them the right?

Well in the UK the speaker of the House

"presides over the House's debates, determining which members may speak. The Speaker is also responsible for maintaining order during debate, and may punish members who break the rules of the House."

Wiki, I know, but difficult to argue against the definition.

It's a good start.

to what?

To allow the bigger criminals gain even further power, just like the mafia did in the US after prohibition. It didn't work then and it won't work now. After all these so called successes, the use and abuse of these drugs increases which suggests the policy is not achieving its objectives but the powers that be, brains addled by years of alcohol poisoning, fail to notice this. A few countries have bravely tried different strategies with some real success but they are dismissed as 'irresponsible'. The rest continue with their failing methods increasing any problems and wasting huge amounts of money. Worthless as it is, it does give them something to do.

#5277123 Ministers To Check Markets For Rising Prices Of Goods

Posted GentlemanJim on 2012-05-06 10:02:49

The lunatics really are running the asylum.

Scenario...Government Minister goes to a supermarket or fresh market complete with entourage of security, personal assistants, sycophants and 20 journalists and a TV crew. Minister says to rather overwhelmed old lady at the market stall "I want a bag of apples and some cabbage and some rice please", "How much will that be", "Oh no problem says the old lady, it's free to you, no charge" Ministers all go back to Yingluck and say 'the people have never had it so good, why are they complaining, the market traders are giving the food away for free'. Result,,,she tells us all again that we are imagining the rising costs.

Thida  and her comments are no more than the ramblings of a deadbeat old Communist who has lost the plot and knows that she isn't going to get a slice or even a crumb of Thaksins cake.Or in fact a slice or even the crumbs of anyone else's cake either.

Normally wouldn't comment on this kind of ignorant and insulting drivel but perhaps worth pointing out that what are described as "deadbeat old Communists" (most of whom like Thida have long abandoned that ideology) saved the country in 1973 and 1976, indeed were regarded as national heroes by all but the unelected elite, the brutalised army and their paid murdering thugs.

Yeah well you are pretty good at the ignorant and insulting drivel yourself. If you want to garner support for your bonehead ideology, not behaving like an arsehol_e might be a good start.

#5277259 Red Shirts Want An End To Military Coups: Thida

Posted rixalex on 2012-05-06 10:51:43

What the red shirts attempted whilst Abhisit was in power was to cut short his term by force, by violence, by intimidation. It wasn't democratic. In many ways it was much like a coup attempt. If they had respect for democracy, they would have said, "ok, we don't like the way that Abhisit came to power, but we will respect the democratic principles we preach, and will demonstrate this not by taking to the streets with arms and burning things down, but by trying to get him removed within the law and via the courts, and if this fails, we will simply campaign hard and make sure he is not re-elected at the next election".

#5264409 'Harassed' Airport Red Shirts Pressure Pheu Thai For Help

Posted OzMick on 2012-05-01 08:33:18

Well this should all be sorted easily. all the "group of red shirts" have to do is produce their company documents, their tender bid, and proof of payment for the concession.

This will disprove all theories that the this is simply a payoff to a bunch of mercenary thugs via a typical Thaksinist scam (ie with other people's money).

#5248745 Chuvit Claims MPs 'Voted For Absent Colleagues'

Posted daninthai on 2012-04-25 14:53:25

"unidentified MP"??? Why can't the reporter / newspaper do some reporting / investigating and find out who is in the photo / video voting for absent members? Why not name these cheating scumbags and shame them into honesty.

#5235789 'I Was Tagged, So I Was Just Browsing': Thai Democrat Party MP Nutt

Fair enough. Good point, but everyone is talking about HIM and not about THAT (which I agree is a much larger issue).
Yepp you are right... i think certain people are talking about him because he is a Dem MP and they think that everyone who found it appalling that Yingluck was using her phone whilst supposedly paying respects at a funeral, by default must be Democrat supporters that will rush to defend him... at which point they can jump up and down with shouts of "hypocrite". Obviously i can't speak for others who condemned Yingluck's behaviour, but i am not a Democrat supporter and i am not rushing to defend this stupid Dem MP who most likely owes his position to his surname, just like Yingluck.

Is recommending that the MP hang himself an inappropriate suggestion? Maybe you should delete the entire article.

#5197681 Abhisit In '2-For-1' Offer

Posted jonclark on 2012-04-07 09:04:25

For me the bigger picture is this. If you let everybody off with an amnesty, the law no longer becomes a deterent, not only for politicians butr for everybody in Thailand. The law will be toothless. Without the fear of the law to govern appropriate behaviour you learn fairly swiftly that if you do wrong, but can garner enough support and kick up a big enough stink, you'll get your way.

Maybe it would just be easier to get rid of all laws instead
