Hi all,
For your information...
There is now in Ubon what we in UK call a Public Notary, in Oz I believe is called a JP, and in Thailand is called a Notarial Services Attorney. They can certify signatures and documents. I have used them to certify copies of documents.
His name is Mr. Phisan Phoolsri, telephone 081-8788940 or 045-254411.
His office is inside a temple shop, next to KrungThai bank, on Chayangkun Road near the corner of Chayangkun and Sappasit.
He has been established here since Feb. 2011.
Cheers,
Mike

Uk Passport From Hk
2012-05-08 16:32:27
My new UK passport was issued in Hong Kong, in accordance with the new rules, and sent to me in Thailand. I just went to my local immigration office (Phibun), to get my non-'O' visa transferred to it. They would not accept the new passport, because it was not issued in Bangkok, and has no entry stamp in it. They said I need a letter from the British Embassy to state that the passport is real. After some discussion, they said my receipt for the passport would be accceptable - so I have to go back with additional paperwork.
Has anyone else had this problem? Surely it is a common scenario.
Be advised, then to take with you any documentation you have to support your new passport :-)
Cheers,
Mike

2010-12-09 13:39:33
Just to let you know, a message from Ting (whose skills in the kitchen exceed those at the keyboard)...
Wrong Way will be doing a Christmas dinner buffet at 250 baht per head ('all you can eat')at 6pm on December 24th.
There will be turkey, roast beef, potato salad, etc., and also Thai food.
Richard will be cooking.
Best wishes to all
