I realize this is an odd post but thought it was worth a shot that someone in Chiang Mai knows of a small resort for rent or sale.
Ideally I'm looking for 30+ private rooms with common restaurant and pool and reasonably remote.
Any resort that is looking to sell or lease is probably underperforming or needs an overhaul. I'm not looking for a performing, high occupancy property. In fact, I'm looking for the opposite.
If anyone knows a place, or has seen a place that may fit, I'd appreciate the heads up.
Mods, please do not put in classifieds as I'm looking for local knowledge.

Anyone Else Taken Delivery Of The New Colorado 2.8?
2012-03-12 15:38:41
I have given up waiting on the Ford Ranger 3.2 Wildtrak - went yesterday to the Dealer I have an order with in Chiang Mai and he said June delivery...but I have zero confidence it will be June.
The Chevy Colorado 2.8 looks ok and is only 1 month delivery.
Any opinions from Owners who have done a few km in it?

My Attempts To Buy A Pickup
2011-10-15 19:00:57
Today, armed with 400,000 baht I was determined to either place a down payment on pickup, or put down a deposit and wait.
Given that the Colorado launched last Wednesday in Chiang Mai, I went to have a look at the 4 door, LZT and have a test drive. They didn't have a single Colorado on site and said December delivery time for the 4 door. Next.
I went to Toyota to look at the Vigo. They had one black 4 door in stock that I could buy. I asked if I could test drive it? No. I understood, but could I test drive a similar spec Vigo? No. Can I test drive any Vigo? No. I have never driven a Vigo and just wanted to see how it went, but they would not allow a test drive. Next.
Just for interests sake I asked about a Fortuner then and they said that they were scheduled for May next year, but because of the floods, probably June. Could I test drive one? No.
I went to Ford to ask about the new Ranger. They said they have a launch next Saturday and I said I would come to look. But I asked will I be able to test drive it? No. I would have to wait until January, but they said if I wait to January to order, it will be an April delivery.
Do Thais actually test drive cars, or do they just buy them for social standing?
I guess my attempts to be ahead of the new model curve is not going to happen.

New Chevy Captiva
2011-08-09 11:16:56
I am looking for a new car after crashing my truck.
The new Captiva looks interesting, with some good options and reasonably priced.
I really like as many airbags so as to turn the car into a childs blow-up bouncy castle when I crash.
Has anyone bought one? If so, what do you think of it?
Or are people waiting for the diesel model?
MRO, do you know roughly when the diesel is due?
Thanks for any insight you might have.

Tablet Pc'S

I'm interested in knowing more about the specifications for the Tablet PC's that PTP have promised...processor, memory, screen, battery, operating system, wifi...
The price appears to be around $150 each, which probably means a Chinese or maybe Indian existing product.
I want to know what type of software it will be capable of running.
If anyone knows, would appreciate it.
