Hello,
Could someone please give me a ballpark figure as to how much I can expect to pay a live-out nanny to look after my 2 month old and keep our apartment clean (only 100 square metres). The hours would be approx 8:30 to 5:30, 5 days a week with the occcasional babysitting duties as an extra. We live on Sukhumvit Road.
Minimum English abilites would be preferable.
Many Thanks!!

Disturbing Trend In Sukhumvit Area, Bkk
2012-01-04 11:16:19
Hi,
Just wanted to share something that I have noticed over the past few weeks....
I have lived on Sukhumvit Road for around 5-6 years and have never really seen police stop checking people in the streets (especially at day time), however over the last month or so I have seen this virtually every day. The targets have been foreigners of all ages/demographics at all times of the day. They seem to be checking I.D. and then checking all pockets, wallets, socks etc....
The exact area that I have seen this happen personally is inbetween Thonglor and PromPong BTS. Having spoken with friends in the area I have learnt that others too have noticed this trend and indeed a couple of friends have been searched.
One girl I know was stopped late at night on the way home (she was in a taxi), she did not have I.D. on her nor any considerable amount of money. The police kept her around for a while whilst they discussed what they should do with her, when they realised that they were not going to get any money out of her, they made her give them the shoes on her feet(!) and let her go. Bizarre....
Anyway, just a heads up.
Cheers.

Recently Reduced Ipad Prices
2011-03-30 13:23:39
Hello,
I notice that the price of Ipads from Apple retailers has recently been reduced, for example; the 16GB WIFI model is now 12,900 and the 32GB WIFI version is 15,900 (not 3G models).
Does anyone have up to date info on the current price of these models in Pantip Plaza/ Fortune Tower / MBK etc?
Thanks.

Nice Thai Restaurant Recommendations
2011-01-10 09:56:28
Hello!
I am taking some friends of friends out for dinner this evening. They are staying in the Hilton Millenium so I would like to stay in that area, either; around the river near Taksin bridge, Sathorn or Silom.
I would like to take them to a 'Thai food' restaurant with a nice ambiance, i.e. nowhere with v. loud music, bright strip lights or on the pavement. Price wise around 300-600 Baht per person (excluding drinks).
Does anyone know of somewhere which may be suitable?
Thanks in advance...

New Passport - Non Imm B Questions
2010-12-13 14:54:40
Hi,
My girlfriend has recently obtained a new UK passport. Her non-Imm B visa was in the old passport. We left and returned to Thailand with both passports and she was given a 3 month stamp in the new passort (the actual visa was not transfered however).
Since then we left Thailand and returned again, however this time she only brought the new passport. When we returned to Thailand the official in Suvarnaphumi only gave her 30 days as he could not see the actual non-imm B visa......
I dont know what to do now.
Should she go to Chaeng Wattana and show them both passports and ask them to transfer the visa from the old passprt to the new one now? or will there be issues because she has been stamped in for 30 days in the meantime?
Also we are flying back to the UK in 2 days, can she do this at the airport? or can they give her 3 months entry when we fly back in 2 weeks? or will the 30 day tourist stamp in the meantime be a problem?
Thanks for any answers.
