It just goes to show how
PTP MPs will say anything that pops into their heads, if it is thought self-serving, no matter how lame, misguided, or just plain illogical.

You don't think every MP in Thailand is the exact same? give or take 1 or 2.

Amorn electric in Big C downstairs are the only people capable of what you are asking, they have a repair centre right against the back wall of their shop. Everyone else in Big C will as you say try to replace the motherboard at a massive cost. Amorn is cheap and they try to repare rather than replace.

For comparison, here is how district 5 in Pathum Thani voted last year

PTP - 49,242  -   55%
Democrat - 34,402   -  38%
BJT - 6,026  -   6%

Interesting that this was a seat that PTP won with a majority of the vote, as many of their seats outside of the N and NE were not.  You'd expect it more in one of the seats they won with 30% of the vote, not in one with a majority.

That aspect certainly lends credence to Korn's remark:

He made the whole thing as if it was for fun and has taken public support for granted.

.

That means he didn't hand out the usual 500 Baht.
That why only 30 % went voting.

It doesn't mean anything if the government is popular or not. The usual PTP supporter doesn't see any reason to go voting beside collecting his money.

As opposed to the 1000 baht that the democrats were handing out in the south last year?

It's well worth considering that Mr Abhisit doesn't have cronies buy his votes all the way from Korat to Nong Khai also.

The number of votes for Thaksin may well have out-weighed those of Abhisit, but when one considers the true validity of 'unbought' villagers' votes, then in a fair duel Mr Abhisit would win hands down, in any true and unbent voting environment.

perhaps you need to check your facts a little bit more, I live in the South and vote buying by the democrats was rife during the last election, people been offered 1000 baht to sway their decicion toward a democrat 'X'. Although the Nation wants you to believe that the current government are the vote buyers, it is simply not true, I have seen it with my own eyes. They are all at it trust me.
