Did anybody else just feel that, about 10 minutes ago, 4:50pm, felt much bigger than the last one!

Laminate Flooring

2012-01-30 17:49:01

When I was in the UK 8 years ago I put laminate flooring from B&Q around the house, I seem to remember that this was pretty cheap to do, and came in packs that just slotted together, from what I have seen in Thailand, laminate flooring seems to be about 10 times more expensive than in the UK. Does anybody have any knowledge of where to buy reasonably priced laminate flooring.

Thanks

Ranong Or Nong Khai?

2011-04-05 10:52:17

Okay, my 1 year non imm B is nearly finished on 28th April. I live and work in Phuket but I am driving up to KK, Udon this weekend for Songkran, Ususally I just cross the border to the Andaman club at ranong just before my visa finishes and I get another 3 months when I come back in. Is this the same sort of thing at the border crossing into Laos, because I already have the visa do I just need to go across then I can come straight back? I would appreciate anybody with knowledge of the process in the north to let me know what happens, the only information I can find online seems to involve visa runs to Vientienne which I don't need as I already have a valid visa. So, my option is to stop at Ronong on the drive up there or if it is easy I would prefer to do at Nong Khai. Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

The Truth About Francis Light

2010-10-11 21:30:18

I was recently reading an article, that spoke about captain Francis Light, the founder of Penang. In the article it mentions a story about the two heroines of Phuket, Khun Thepkrasatri and Khun Srisoonthorn. It mentions that he warned them that the Burmese were coming to invade and he sent message ashore and this is how they knew to dress like men and scare off the Burmese. I got talking to quite a few Thais about this matter, and they are all told of the Heroines story when they are at school but they are never taught that a British man named captain Francis Light came ashore and informed them that they were about to be invaded. Why do you think this is? Why would they not teach this important piece of history?
