Pol. Maj. Gen. Piya Utayo, Office of the National Police said, that the statistics show that very few x-rated movies have been produced in Thailand. But these films can ruin the image of Thailand and the police will coordinate with the ICT ministry to block websites and companies distributing x-rated movies produced in Thailand.

This is very funny!!  Maybe most people here are not old enough to remember but many years ago Bangkok was called "The Blue Movie Capital of the World."  That was before such things were called porn and were known as blue movies.

Funny indeed....this is reminiscent of the Minister woman (I think her name was Paweena) many years ago. She was famous for 'rescuing' girls from prostitution and ran a foundation type of thing to rehabilitate displaced women. All very good. But while she was minister she did a tour of Pattaya, then returned to Bangkok and announced that she saw no evidence of prostitution in Pattaya. True story. I wonder where she was looking while in Pattaya...:-)

In Topic: High Ranking Customs Official Physically Abuses Airport Security: Thailand

A simple cctv video does not show the full background story or what was said. While I can't defend the Customs official, I have seen these airport security themselves behave aggressive and threatening to other people just the same way - in my case to a taxi driver, who then sped off and almost hit me while carrying my baby daughter in front of the airport. These airport security are simply bad and stupid and I'm not surprised someone has finally stood up to them,.

While the behaviour of the customs official is despicable (Customs and Revenue Department are so spoilt and morally corrupt there's little else one can expect of them), it is also true that certain security officials are equally arrogant and dismissive. Not sure if its improper training or just the lack of accountabiity that they feel free to take matters in their own hands without showing better judgement. I have witnessed verbal abuse on several occassions directed towards other passengers. One one occassion I saw this security check woman shouting at a passenger to 'hurry up' and rudely telling him to 'put your bag over here' etc. In my own case, once when the security officer was rude and asked me to 'put the bag up quickly' and started going thru the contents without any regard for the way they were arranged, I asked her to make sure she puts everything back the way she found it. On hearing this the supervisor jumped on me and started giving me a hard time. There was nothing objectionable in my hand luggage and the security staff had cleared it but this supervisor removed a small can of talcum powder (which was for my daughter) saying it was dangerous substance and I could use it to throw in the eyes of fellow passengers during the flight. I demanded knowing if the ailrline had talcum powder listed as banned (just like liquids) they simply told me its their job to decide whats best for security. I checked the name of the supervisor from his name tag pinned on his chest which further infuriated him and he stopped me after my bag was cleared and scribbled down my name and passport # in a threatening way saying if I complain about them he will initiate a complain against me too.
All this simply because I chose to challenge their methods and questioned them. Some of these security jerks perhaps get too stressed or feel they have the right to treat everyone as guilty until proven innocent ending up with very objectionable and unprofessional behaviour. Most of them are polite and calm but there are some seriouly bad apples in there. It takes two to tango...as they say...

why is that that a guy wants to beat up or kill the guy involved with his wife or girlfriend ?

he cant shag her unless she lets him and he cant know shes married unless she tells him. i have never understood why a guy wants to beat up the lover.

it would be difficult for most men to walk away from a beautiful woman if she offers it on a plate.
surely the women are at fault in these situations and not the guy.

Yes, absolutely correct. But I suppose guys are overcome with jealous rage and have the primal instinct to destroy their 'competition'... also guys hate 'losing' their women and instinctively try and 'reposses' them. Sad to see how we are wired and how much agony and suffering we bring upon oursleves and others. Once you slight signs of cheating from a woman just let her go because 'once a cheat always a cheat'... lot easier said then done I suppose...also men are as much cheats as women are so...
70k salary plus condo plus gifts was clearly not enough for this lady...perhaps she was in 'love' with this driver guy or the singaporean was sleeping around. It will be interesting to know why she called him and wanted to break up...
Passion is the true crime...:-)

Unfortunately, those pictures are making their way into the foreign press with headlines like "Bangkok Airport Flooded," scaring off thousands more tourists into canceling their plans to come to Thailand.

correct...and smartass CNN reported this morning on how 'miserable' the plight of all Bangkokians is because 'they are stuck and cannot travel out as the airport is flooded' after showing pictures of Don Mueang. Some very junior weatehr reporter woman added her own touch to the report by saying 'the airport is closed' and nobody bothered double checking her report before airing... this was around 11 am or noon this morning...Sad...
