Do many people make a career out of this?

It is actually very encouraging reading what you write, and I thank you for that.
I really mean that.
It makes me think and reflect over things I never did before.
:)
However, one think I respectfully disagree, and that is your view of the delicious smoking.
Smoking is, with all its dangers and issues, indeed deliciously wonderful to do.
Ahhh, the cig after a meal, or sex.
The cig after stress, or during stress.
The companion the cigs are while bored.
The good feeling after a drag.
In spite of all those good things, I decided there must be some long term benefits down the road, if I quit.

I really hope you are correct about my attitude change 6 months from now, and that I will continue to not smoke.
Problem is that absolutely all of my smoking colleagues started again after 6-18 months.
But I am not them. I am me.
:)

Dude i quit after smoking for over 20 years...it was not easy and in fact the hardest thing i have ever done but boy am i happy..you wrote probably in jest..

Ahhh, the cig after a meal, or sex.     ... yeah i enjoyed these but my girlfriends at the time did not...  but i was to selfish to notice

The cig after stress, or during stress.   ...i don't get stressed like i did when i smoked..see a connection...the nicotine demon calling..very clever

The companion the cigs are while bored.  ...i dont get bored like i did when i smoked and i dont put jobs off or think deep about them..just do it now

The good feeling after a drag. ... i just feel normal now all of the time..because i don't have nicotine cravings so i don't have that stupid command to smoke that your mind tells you is a good feeling but you know deep down its a command to smoke to make you feel normal..but its not normal its your nicotine addiction being fed.... it took me a while after quitting to fully understand this one....it must be a eureka moment for all ex smokers when they can look back and laugh at the fact that those drags felt good...when once you stop smoking you just feel good all of the time...bizarre but true.

good luck...try quomen tablets if you really want to quit....

In Topic: Stopping Smoking With Quomem

Quomen works...i was a 15 plus cigarettes per day for over 20 years smoker.... I used Quomen no side effects..only all the horrible feeling in your body and mind from the adjustment from no chemicals/nicotine entering your body from your cig fix..

It was hard and to this day i always say it was the hardest thing i have ever had to do in my adult life....

it is good to see another poster on here known as angiud say he is still a none smoker as we exchanged alot of messages as i was few weeks ahead of him when we quit using quomen and i was actively typing in this forum..we do not know each other but here we are 2 people who used half a box 1500baht to quit smoking with no side effects.....  it works really works....

if you are searching google for help when stopped smoking like i did..no doubt you will be reading my replies on peoples blogs etc.because i suddenly realise i typed those word over 2 years ago.... because after 2 years from quitting i still search stop smoking on google when i have the feeling i want a cigarette (this is not an urge to smoke and it is very controllable..i can laugh in the face of the nicotine demon) but it still comes now and again...which is why i guess i have found myself typing this ...2 years after i quit...

only yesterday i laughed to myself that if i was still a smoker..i would have gone outside in the rain to have the pleasant feeling of hiding from the rain whilst blowing smoke and deep thinking..but the deep thinking part is bollox...you are not deep thinking when smoking...its just an amazing illusion created by the smoking effect,,,,once you quit you will understand..

one last word of advice for want to be quitters...use Quomen and search on you tube for EFT techniques for quitting this self help works...drink lots of water, eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruit and if you cannot beat smoking ....go for a shower when the urge comes as the urge is only 3 minutes long and you cannot smoke in the shower....

it aint easy...but its bloody enjoyable beating the smoking devil....  food and beer tastes so much better the taste buds come alive after about 4 weeks from not smoking..i can remember the taste of a cold beer and thinking bloody hell this tastes crisp and clean...its never tasted like that before...of course it always tastes like that now....

ride the waves of the urge out in the shower..thats what i did...i  imagined the waves of the urge as the sea and i was a surfer and for them to come and smash me...i surfed them all out...none of them smashed me into smoking.......

hope this helps....

i am a smoker...but i choose not to smoke at this moment and the feeling is not a command i am choosing not to smoke now...!

Buy an automobile or follow the traffic laws. Problem solved.

Chunks
I have a car and drive within the law but still get pulled over for a shakedown sometimes. Normal at toll booths where they see a white bloke at the wheel.

To the OP, take no notice of Chunks coz he has no idea about driving in Thailand proven with another thread not so long ago.

Yes Onnut I will never have your knowledge when it comes to potted plants, parking and other automobile issues.

I'm sure On Nuts potted plants and old ladies saga was way before your registration dates.....oohh errrhh...who were you before??? cumon tell us....you know want to....i'd guess the old mafia don guy....is it?? are  you?

My older brother, who also lives in Thailand, made a nasty comment to my gf (now wife) many years ago.  He said, "Maybe you should leave my brother alone and go back to the rice farm to pick rice".  My wife was hurt to the point of tears, which quickly turned to anger.  I was quite angry as well and let him know it.  He was drunk at the time and felt bad about it, but there is no taking back a comment like that.  It definitely put a strain on all the interrelationships.

My wife was terribly hurt and refused to speak with him for a few years. Fortunately they reconciled, long ago, and today they are pretty good mates.  My brother and I now are careful not to make any judgments or comments regarding our respective choice of girlfriends.

Is it only me who finds this funny and cannot wait to use it on my wife when she is peeing me off...but it must be said sarcastically not in the angry/drunk way your bro used it and i can imagine the pain it caused...
