I find it puzzling too. I don't think there is hostility to Dukes. It is his business and all credit to him for offering discounts. If people think a pizza price is high so be it. They are entitled to their opinion but not entitled to be flamed.
I think there are a few on this thread who are causing waves and enjoying the hostility they are trying to create. The manipulation of the voting should be questioned. The negative on your post 22 for example was I believe attributed to me !!!
It is also puzzling that a poster can make a negative post on the forum ( for effect, to incite...I don't know ) but be quite positive in a pm.
In my view, there is nothing negative in offering a discount. It is a business decision taken by the owner and has the potential of benefitting him and his customers. The thread has attracted a lot of hits anyway which is another plus.
We all know who the trouble makers are.
A member now banned told me he only posted to wind people up and it did help his business to keep his name in lights. No problem in that I suppose, but not a very positiive approach.
Personally, I think that the voting is a load of rubbish and like all voting of this type it's a control and bit like handing out candies to the best school kid.
It's something George Orwell would have had a field day with.

i do understand cos i myself have my limit of food . but let spare everyone the info .
First i give you some serious advice .

When you got a condition is YOUR DUTY to take care of your Diet . Target special restaurant for your Meal or COOK it yourself . that what i do .
As much as you are still making noise here is a sign that you had not suffer enough which is good in a waye meaning you or your wife had not die from the food condition problem .
Why take the risk . the Asian way is much different from your way of life and knowing your problem or sharing it here do not really solve your problem . it would happen again and again . till one day one party suffer from it or rather many party suffer for you .
is all due to one simple reason .. you are not responsible enough to look for the right type of Food . all you prefer is by random walk into some food outlet and hope there bend their back for you .

my offer for you .
1. cook it yourself . BEST CHOICE ( if you want to learn cooking there is alot of cook school in Cm also i can point you to some )
2. look for me i bring you to some real Vegetrain food outlet . in fact i been eating it for 2 days now cos i miss the good food there since i reply your post .
3. keep your meal . bring your own food that you can buy from many of the super market .
4. maybe is time you convert into a fuitratian ( bascially you only eat fruit )
5. Hire me to be your cook . i can cook some really nice food my price start with $250 usd per hour ( seriously ) i get you the best fresh food and 100% no meat no fish . and still taste as good
location if you want to eat on the street ,
Chiangmai Gate have 2 outlet look out for this logo .
I went down to the outlet this morning at about 7am and i recall your post so here some photo not sure what time their close but about 3-4 pm i assume please check
Here is the logo you should be looking out - usually is a large yellow banner or flag .
The outlet is located at Chiangmai Gate . if needed please print it out and ask around chaingmai gate their food is CHEAP and good .100%
Since your Wife is Thai . i assume she like Somtum . here is a Vege version i ate this morning . and it tase SUper . with SEAWEED .
NOTE - some vege food in thailand EGG is added .depend on who do it .

protect yourself by being responsible to your choice .
blaming others is not going to make your life better .

Caf if I remember correctly you asked for some ideas regarding your friends business in CM in another thread and myself, Dave from the Dukes and a couple of people gave you some good advise, which you didn't even acknowledge
Maybe that's why people don't contribute to your threads
Back to topic and I hope the Dukes and their customers get something out of this deal
Yes , we had some advice, some of it very useful and we are looking at it. Her boyfriend has been out of the country but has now done a summary for a plan forward.
This thread however is pure promotion. As i said nothinmg wrong with that but it is not very positive. Many posters are forgetting that this is a forum for exchanging views. I don't see any in this thread, do you?
As for people not contributing to my thread ( it actually wasn't my thread by the way) You are rather wrong on that both in terms of replies and pms. And we have to thank a moderator for that. Look at the thread and see how it got moving again after a moderator warning.
Let's try and get on and not score cheap points. I have already said I wish dukes luck and thanked people for contributing to ideas on my friend's business.
