Tell me about the TOT throttling and what this means in practice . . .

Throttling........  quite easy concept..........

If 1,000,000 subscribers (bearing in mind Thailand has more), have a 20MB/s link, which is a dedicated service to the US, the Thai to US truck would be:-

20,000,000MB/s = 19,531 GB/s  = 19 TB/s

I am not sure the total trunk capacity of Thailand, but i can guarantee you its maybe in the 100's GB range,

If you have seen the cost of a E1, you would realize you would need to pay maybe 20,000 or 40,000 baht/month  or more a month for this dedicated service.

As such, it works on probability of use, and generally puts priority on certain services i.e. email, facebook, youtube etc. My understanding is i.e. heavy downloaders ( i.e. my newphew is 24/7 downloading big movie files ) might be throttled down during peak use hours, and be unthrottled during off peak hours......

Now add another dedicated trunk to Europe.........  you can see its just not economically feasible.

Local internet would not be throttled as the cost of local connectivity is alot less.  Thats why for example Google puts a service in Singapore ( or malaysia - i forgot ), so that if you search or download movies, your pulling it over a less costly (and thus faster ) trunk. If you were in the US, connecting to a US server, i am not sure, but you probably would not be throttled.

If a local operator is not distributing their bandwith properly, everyones internet connection would grind to a halt (my friend upcountry had TTnT and then TOT many years back, and they got dial up speed during peaks ).

As such, throttling benefits the normal user (mass)

Winding me up.. Lol...  Don't flatter yourself.   You just make your self look stupid to those who know the industry by posting garbage with no supporting facts. ( I mean your own posts, re- posted articles look of course more credible )

Everyone knows the CAT-True deal(s) were "shady"; nothing is really illegal here.

Obviously only you. State your evidence / facts......... as usual, just slander and ka-waffle. Dare you to state the "facts" which would stand up in court.

I still find it amazing that True is still not paying CAT any concession fees for 3G! Now wonder CAT is considering dropping TrueMove H as a reseller.

LOL.......  you show your ignorance, you dont even understand  the deal.  Did Hutch pay " concession fees "?...........  Absolutely not, it was not a concession , rather a JV which required cabinet approval.

Just stick to re-posting other peoples stuff, at least it makes you look like an expert.

The author is Don Sambandaraksa. I suspect he knows a bit more about the local telecomms scene than you? Or those imbeciles at TrueMove.

I suspect so, but that would mean your miles behind both of us. Non of the claims you have made so far have any underlying facts, and in most countries including Thailand, it would be considered slander.

Having an internet connection and re-posting other peoples write ups does not make you a critic
