#4563703 My Thai Gf Is Going To Marry Soon But I Am Not The Bridegroom

Posted Gary A on 2011-07-17 08:59:13

Most farangs seem to generalize about bar girls. They have the VERY mistaken idea that all bar girls are bad and all NON bar girls are good.

The most mercenary useless young bitch I ever had had never been in a bar in her life. We lived together for nine months and she refused to go in any bar even when with me. She did teach me a lesson and that was that a girl can put on an act for several months but it becomes more difficult as time goes on. I had a really difficult time betting rid of her even though she knew that I was onto her tricks.

Why not just describe them as lesbians so that we all may understand, unless these people are ashamed to have them described for what they actually are?

As I explained earlier, Dee is not a lesbian, she is a heterosexual girl that is currently dating someone with the outward appearance of a man. To be a lesbian, she would need to be attracted to females who dress as girls. It is a heterosexual perversion.

RE: Not unless she can involve me in a few threesomes with with her gorgeous dee pal. Then I'm open to negotiation.

And a 'dee' is? The tom's significant female other?

A brief synopsis, that will cause debate no doubt.

Dee and Tom is common, feminine and Tomboy. Tom and Tom is rare, very rare, but starting to emerge. Dee and Dee less rare, but used to be unheard of.

Dee is the princess, she expects to be treated like a princess, and the Toms have a hard time of it keeping up with demands.

A Dee will casually dump her Tom and take up married life, leaving the Tom desolate. In some cases, the Dee will continue the relationship while married, but basically it is a one way street all in favour of the Dee.

Google Tom and Dee if you want more info, it's interesting to read many Thais elastic relationship with sexuality. It's one of the things at odds with our Western ideas. It is a shock to many Westerners.

As time moves on a lot of previously taboo relationships such as dee/dee and tom/tom are coming out.

In a country that is so liberal in it's attitude to sex, on some issues it can be completely illiberal. Tom/dee is fine, but Tom/Tom or Dee/Dee is scandalous.

Going back to the OP, the idea of the friends wife being involved previously in a Tom/Dee relationship is humdrum. Even wanting to still be involved is relatively humdrum.

The scandalous part in the OP was the groping in the gas station in particular. If a Thai guy was the husband methinks the Tom would be nursing a broken jaw.

Dee is Toms girlfriend, but remember Dee is not a lesbian, Dee will happily date men as well (as long as they pick up the bills).

#5268887 Price Increase For Bts Extention

Posted w11guy on 2012-05-02 22:05:22

If the BTS is as overcrowded as some of you claim, it would be stupid to reduce prices, as that would make them even more overcrowded. The system doesn't have the capacity to transport everyone around the city. Public transportation is still in it's early days here, so don't expect too much to soon. Thailand is still a developing country, so stop expecting it to be like a developed country overnight. Things are improving and I'm sure they could improve more quickly, but even developed countries took decades to build their infrastructure. Thailand is very different from US, UK, etc, so don't keep expecting it to be just like home. If home is so great, what are you doing here.

If 55 baht is too expensive for you then you need to move to a poorer, less developed country.

#5268676 Price Increase For Bts Extention

The wider problem is this - The BTS is meant to be a mass transport system, unfortunately these price increases take that concept further away from the masses,  as it cost 55 baht per person each way from Bearing to Siam,  (for example) Is that affordable means of transport for the average person. A return trip for an average family would costs more than the daily minimum wage. Or to put in other words for those of us that earn more than the minimum wage. Would you forgo a days salary to take the BTS? No none of us would. So if not how is this a mass transport system fit for the 21st century?

First, everyone blaming the BTS for the fare increase (between On Nut and Bearing) is not looking in the right direction. The reason behind the difference in pricing is because the BMA (city government) funded the construction of the extension (whereas BTS built and paid for the original line) and needs to recoup its costs somehow. Thus blame the inefficiencies of government, both local and national for the convoluted fare structure.

Second, with regards to actual BTS fares, the recent increase was more or less the first system-wide increase in history. As I recall, initial fares were 15-40 baht and increased to 15-45 baht at some point in the last 5-6 years. The new fares (18-56 baht) would not be implemented if the BTS didn't think they would continue to make money. In reality, the only places you see "mass" rail transit by your definition (very affordable for most people, it seems), are places with exceedingly strong central governments, extremely large demand, and a large necessity, demand nothwithstanding... which means Singapore, HK, Mainland China etc... last I checked a one-station trip on the Tube in London was about 4 quid.

So yeah, it sucks that fares have increased, but it still represents the best way to get around if your origin and destination are near the alignment. While it reeks of TV's typical hater attitude, if you live in Bangkok and you can't afford to ride the BTS now that fares have increased, you probably shouldn't be here in the first place. It's really not that expensive...

The victim is a "friend of a group of friends" (sorry but it's true).

These stories are always friend of a friend.  They've been going through the farang rumour mill for years.  I don't think the OP is trolling, but I don't think this happened to the girl either.  Most likely it's a story she heard from a friend or from a farang in Khao San that she changed to include herself.   And you know, guys do actually get caught with weed in Khao San Road all the time.  There was a poster here recently who admitted to it, most will lie and claim innocence.  I have been stopped and searched for drugs about a dozen times (I'm not sure why they single me out but it happens a lot) and never had a problem.  Most of my friends have been searched many times as well.  I've also seen farang in khao san smoking weed in the street (soi rambutri actually but close enough), and have had strangers come up to me and try to sell to me as well, so there are plenty of targets for the police to go after without fabricating them

#5189966 Ethical Question In A Relationship.

Posted 2unique on 2012-04-04 08:50:56

Shurup I have a lot of respect for you having read a few of your posts so I'm going to be overly harsh.

You're not quite a control freak but you do have issues and feelings of superiority possibly entitlement which reading between the lines you're mentally bullying this girl into compliance with your relationship sop.

Not giving her a budget appears to be more for your morality compass than for the good of the relationship and in some ways your posts show you have a relationship manual that is flawed and setting her up to fail. Almost as if you're not committed to the relationship but could be if she achieves 99% pass rate in negotiating the pitfalls that lead to being the ideal and perfect woman for Shurup. Latest polls are gonna show you're not perfect possibly not even perfect for her!

You stopped her working so that she could be available for you, no judgement but do you see where we come back to that sense of entitlement? What does she do but wait around for you on your month off? Set her a monthly amount in lieu of her missing salary and move on. The money has gone so play a better what if game...

What if she invested it to please you and gain your hard to win respect, got conned, chased the first 50k with another and is too embarrassed to say?

Involve her in setting the ground rules moving forward, assure her there is a forwards (she's probably living in fear/stress) and let her know when she's ready to talk you're willing to listen.

It's not a joint account, it's your account that she has access to and that's the problem. Sort out the financial ambiguity and forget the spy stuff.

If I had written that first post you'd think what a dramatic, wishy washy, controlling prick... and you'd be justified!

Sent from Android please excuse errors in type or judgement

#5167057 90 Day Reporting In Bangkok At Chaeng Wattana

Posted TallGuyJohninBKK on 2012-03-26 21:53:57

I did my mail-in to CW a month or so back... everything went fine as usual...

Though they were a bit slower than normal in mailing back my future reporting slip. They got my documents about a week ahead of my due date, and I didn't receive their receipt until 2+ weeks after my original due date.

For me, spending 50 baht or so on the combined EMS postage and included self-addressed envelope with a 10 baht return stamp definitely beats the joys of an excursion to far away CW.

The bottom line is that should the likes of Noyes, Colov, the bloke from the other forum and Drummond be booted from Thailand, Thailand will continue to function perfectly normally without them.

All this nonsense is part of the urge to try and be some sort of "Big Fish" in a pond where we, as Westerners, mean nothing to the locals....

In real terms, this has nothing to do with Thailand at all.
The bottom line to be fair is that to compare Noyes, Colov, and the pathetic specimen from the hardwood forum to Andrew Drummond is frankly, ridiculous. Drummond has spent the past two years or so trying to enlighten the expats of Pattaya about the activities of these shysters, at no small cost to himself. He has been threatened with violence including thinly veiled death threats, law suits designed to shut him up, all to no avail. He has stuck in there, refusing to be intimidated, and in many people's opinion has shown great bravery and integrity resisting these lowlife's attempts to silence him. He is a proper investigative journalist with a track record to prove it, sticking up for the small guy victims and should surely be applauded for his efforts on their behalf. We are lucky to have him. Surely anybody with even limited intelligence reading what passes for journalism in the newspapers of Pattaya must realise that they are just a vehicle for the self promotion of their proprietors. One of the leading pastimes of some of us sitting in coffee shops in Pattaya, is ' Counting the photos of the proprietor' in the Pattaya People. My personal best is 52, (yes, fifty two) pictures of Mr Colov in one edition of his organ. Makes the late Robert Maxwell look like a shrinking violet in comparison!
