Why would they assume the attacker is a westerner?

Only 59%? The 74% figure sounds more like it.

#5319125 Dropped 1 Baht Coin...Do You Pick It Up?

Posted BBurns on 2012-05-21 13:46:45

Hahahaha you all made my day today.  I can't stop smiling (this is NOT sarcasm) thanks all :)  .... Constipated Soi dog, chop stick LOL

A:
1 baht is 1 baht if your living in Thailand and like most of us here were staying for a Long time. It might be best to try to live like a local (just a bit) So if it takes a WHOLE 7 seconds to pick up 1 baht who cares and do it. Would you not pick up a penny in the USA if you dropped it? ( for you non USA folks sorry I don't know what your smallest coin is) plus if a Thai see you drop a baht and not care about it it might re-enforce their negative option about rich farang.

I'm NOT a cheap Charlie but I do respect money and the value of it.

Just giving my 2 cents... ;)

PS. what about a .25 baht coin (1/4 baht) Mmmmm?

This probably comes at no surprise, being this is Thailand, but I am really confused here.  Let's see, we have Russians, Mexicans, Thai's, Malaysians, what no white falangs?  This can't be right.

You forget the Turk

.....and the Spanish guy.

Not to mention the 3 canadians of the first bust report !

Yes, it makes my head hurt. I'm off to the fridge for a cold one now.

I am confused as the statement that they have 3 foreigners detained and there is now apparently a Mexican woman on the run and they state that 5 miilion baht of jewellery is still missing.

My questions are    1) where is the Thai man they originally said they detained 2) where is the large Malaysian woman who who absconded from the toilets in the police station.    3) are the "missing items" in the possesion of either the Mexican/Malaysian woman   4)   has the entire staff of the police station been searched to ensure that the "missing items" have not been placed in a "safe place" in the interim period (LOL).

I will wait with baited breath for the next instalment in this "soap story"

So i guess all the comments from yesterday of a set up or bogus 30million claim will now be removed and the shallow minded idiotic forum members banned Posted Image  thought not this is TV

Why should anyone get banned for suggesting it may be a setup? Might well be, for all we know this might have all been planned by the "victim", who rather than planning an insurance fraud, was planning to take a cut from the robbery... sounds improbable but it's certainly plausible...

I'll repeat my earlier question, does anyone actually know for a fact how many people have even been caught ie. numbers of men and woman and corresponding nationalities? Given that even this seems to be confused with conflicting information given, I don't see how anyone can be so clear as to what exactly has transpired...

Suggesting that members be banned for posting opinions you don't agree with would seem rather contrary to the whole point of an internet forum/ debate... and to use your own words, a tad shallow and idiotic.

I have always pondered over how easy it would be to rob a bank/ jewellery store in Thailand. Never intended on doing it, obviously. But I think your chances of getting caught if done even remotely properly are slim to none. Thai police couldn't catch cold.

This mob are morons, they may as well have handed themselves over.

When this story first broke I read a great number posters jumping to conclusions based on nothing that this was an insurance scam. Where are all those posters now. It is a sad statement how ridiculous and embarrassing the farangs on this forum really are.

Simply people saying what they think, if you do not like this use another forum.

That's a bit of egg on the face of the local constabulary.... any more and it will be an omlette.

Still, the apprehension of this lot appears to have involved some real police work. I am impressed. The foreign criminals don't appear to be quite as retarded as the usual pattaya/phuket suspects either.

Are you kidding me???

1. They broke into a car on a parking lot that has SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS without using a disguise.
2. They did the job in a rented car WITHOUT changing the license plates first.
3. They rented the car under their REAL NAME which is how the cops got their names after checking the tapes from the parking lot.
4. Then they switch cars and don't even split up and get promptly caught on their way off the island
and you are saying their not as retarded?

You got to be effing kidding me man. Why didn't they just leave their passports in the car they broke into???

Here I am thinking its 3 white men having pulled this off.
Certainly headline suggests foreigners only.
So with amazement I read, that its really only 1 foreigner ( Russian male ) 1 Thai man and then 2 Malay women.
The women hardly look "foreign" comparing with Europeans. And usually the concensus in Thailand is, that you got to have white skin, before labelled falang.
So howcome, 2 days in a row, they mention 3 foreigners ?

Fact now dictates 3 Asian and 1 falang ( foreigner )
Better headline "3 Asians arrested for Bt30Mn jewelry heist" ??

And how would they know already yesterday, that the 2 women was not Thai, just by cc footage ?

This truly is miracle Thailand :-)

who in their right mind would leave that kind of money in a car overnight?

People who got it all insured a month earlier ?? Posted Image
Even the insurers are not that dumb!
I'm no expert but  what insurance company would pay out on theft from an unattended car......I suppose bankers JP Morgan might with their record but as sure as hell there would be a clause saying the property must be secured relating to it's value.......600,000 pounds that's armoured truck that is.

I hate to say it but if I was a Thai cop in charge of this my first thoughts would be...are you too miserable to pay a couple of Thais to ride shotgun or pay a security company a fee to transport the goods safely?

My second thoughts would be to be on the lookout for 3 guys singing and dancing in the rain minus an umbrella with big smiles on their faces dressed like something out of the roaring twenties.

My 3rd thought would be to stop laughing at him.Posted Image eejit!!!!
