Its real life. There isnt some fantasy nicey nicey world. And in reality Thailand isnt in too bad a place. Natural disasters happen. The world is full of poltical conflict some of it far more violent than in Thailand. Thailand hasnt actually plummetted down any corruption index. Etc

It is noticeable that the democrats didnt mind at all when an unelected government chosen by a military junta chose a cda but have a sudden worry when an elected government will do the same.

Politicans pay attention to this as the farmers deliver elections. The farmers seem to prety much majority support only one party now so lets hope that doesnt lose them leverage. Its also an alliance of certain polticians and farmers with a common objective of geting one over on the traditonal pwoer brokers

I guess the people in the red movment can decide to leave it if they want as part of reconcilliation but to think that it can be disbanded from above is a bit undemocratic. From what I have seen across the north and during some recent time in the Isaan, it is also a truly vast movement. It probably has more memebers than the democrat party has by a long long way. I think Abhisit is dreaming to be honest, the reds arent goign away and cant be shut down and are part of the future whether the elite like it or not. What is really needed is an acomodation betwen groups and not attempts to exclude ones especially one as powerful and large as the red movement
