Hi Trembly,
Rangsit is a private University and has only a good reputation as they allow everyone (having money) into the Uni and than start to cut them off after 2nd year as not achieveing minimum requiered grades. That's how the %age of succes is good.. To be more exact and depending on what subject you enroll, they take all those who have NOT been taken anywhere. Reasons why the students fail at Rangsit Uni is because they care much more about party, "I don t care i got money" and other stuff. I am convienced that this UNI does not have a suitable environment for serious studying. As I mentione in my first message, I have nothing about fun student live but there has to be a balance.
I live in Muang Ake since 6 years and the Uni is 2 minutes away from my house and if there is one Uni I can argue about it is Rangsit. I even have farang english teachers living in my compound so have some deep detail aout this Uni which used to be my first choice for my daughter for proximity reasons...
I would definitly not advise anyone to send their kids there except maybe for some of the science degrees (which seem much more serious students).
I agree with you on Chula (and Kasetsart) having been passed by some smaller Unis.
Thanks for your input.

Wow...that's a pretty strange urban rumour...I think it would be pretty easy to smell a fish that has been dipped in formalin and therefore avoid it. Probably couldn't get much fresher than the Bali Hai or Naklau seafood markets.
I have to agree with the OP. Not all of course and i hope it is not a generality either but there is still a chemical used to keep the fishes looking fresh. I have seen it a dozen of times in some shrimp farms (i am in this business) just after harvest. However, it is not Formalin but an odorless chemical that keeps the meat firm. The main purpose is not to keep the fish looking fresh longer (as anyway in most of the times in less then 24 hours the fish is sold and probably eaten localy in Thailand which is far from being an issue when stored under good condition), but more to sell a bad quality farmed fish or shrimp (bad nutrition for fish gives bad meat) at a better price...
This is an Asian wide practice more or less controlled that is still legal in some of the asian countries for domestic sold seafood.
