#5252856 Why Is It So Difficult To Find A Good Friend In Thailand

Posted Ohyesuare on 2012-04-27 00:12:52

Most of the Falang who come to live in Thailand are not the cream of the crop of society, this would explain why it is so hard if you are a decent person to find good friends . Luckily for me I have never really enjoyed having male friends, and am happy enough in the company of my girlfriend, other ladies or myself.

No communication with anyone, not leaving the house.....no problem

An other clear message for the "what will they do without us" brigade.

I also predict the end of the western expat. Two month ago, we had to fill urgently an expat position and the best candidate was a young Hong Kong Chinese guy. It's a fantastic success. He get along very well with his local colleagues, we don't need to babysit him like his western colleagues. After two month he is able to speak basic Thai. We know realize that in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan we have a big source for our future expat executives, we will now think twice before hiring European expats.

Make sure to let us know when he replaces you.

Done already. My two previous position are now held by Hong Kong people.

And now instead of European interns, we start hiring Chinese (mainland) interns. While it's difficult to find senior executive in China (typically people over 40), I'm really impressed by the quality of the young graduates.

So why not hire Thais instead - quality not good enough for you?

I would think it would be silly to start on a third language where they cant even come close to master a second language in English.  Some believe doing business with china you have to know their language...actually doing business with china you have to talk money and watch your back.

#5242608 Thai Education Ministry Asks China To Send In 10,000 Teachers

Problem #1: The Chinese teachers will not be able to speak Thai. Whilst not being able to speak the local language is not an impediment to professionally trained teachers of second languages, e.g. TESL teachers, will these Chinese teachers have those skills? Probably not.

Problem #2: China does not want or need Thai to be taught to children, and few adults want to learn it either.

Lot of suggestions here. If you still feel insecure about using the water thingy, use what you used in your home-country, it's available here too.   Posted Image

Just how lose it it that water can easily penetrate it?
Just wondering, no answers required.
The Holland Tunnel comes to mind. (My old nickname.)

@Sysardman
The original stick is DDR3 and the motherboard (G42T-AM) supports it. The ECS website gives information about G41T-M but it doesn't have any information about G42T-AM.

To all who have responded, thank you!

You did put G41T-AM in your original post, not G42T-AM - sorry my info was no use.

glad to hear the baby is alright but....

1. why go out at one in the morning into a dark alley in patong beach?
2. why wasn't the boyfriend with her?

when you're five months pregnant...

Nice to see you blaming the victims here.  I think she explained her reasons for being alone in the article.

She made a mistake, that is for certain.  but no need to rub it in.   The ones here at fault are the alleged ladyboy attackers.

#5067854 Teaching With Ipads

I think it won't be that easy for anyone to make a profit here when all the prices of the "i" devices are prominently displayed on the Apple website and Apple won't even bend an inch even if a school purchases 100 iPads.

The post of Education Minister (and Transport) is often a gift to the group of MPs who helped the government form a coalition. The contracts they award are lucrative. I can't believe any Thai government minister or administrator would allow a large purchase without their 'kin muang' cut anyway. The iPad scheme may be above this but it's hard to believe that there isn't padding to allow commission.

Getting back to the OP, it's hard to imagine how the iPad can be used in a communicative language class. I guess science classes would benefit. Access to information on the Internet certainly wouldn't be encouraged in a Thai history class.
