Noticed a new bicyle shop, 'Samui Bike Cafe' has opened in Chaweng opposite what used to be Mecure, by Lakeview. New, top quality (Trek, Mongoose, SE, GT, Schwinn etc) bikes and parts...service and maintenance too.
Helmets too...
I offer this as info since I can recall this subject coming up on a regular basis and the shop's definitely worth a look in, prices reasonable too.
Had a short chat with the owner. His name is John (Thai) speaks English fluently -and has a real passion for bikes.

Some totally unecessary and in my opinion unwarranted harsh responses to what is obstensively a well meaning post by the OP. Quite what exactly is the problem with caring a little about the environment we live in?
