Good point Sven but I know a fair few teachers from a number of different countries (English, Irish, Filipino, Australian, American, Canadian, Japanese, Welsh, South African) and all have their own unique accent, but one thing they all do is speak a lot clearer, slower and louder in the classroom with their students than they do outside of school with their friends and family.

I am happy to hear that!
I have only been in the university in a class once here in Thailand when a friend were teaching English.

That was a couple of very interesting lessons where the teacher managed to activate 100% of the students in both writing and talking English!

I was very impressed!

I just wonder why these teacher don't speak a lot clearer, slower and louder in the pub when they are telling funny jokes etc?

In Topic: Driving Own Car In Burma

2012-05-15 20:40:03

In the year 2003 me and my daughter, 30+ at that time, took a trip to Burma.

We stayed a couple of days in Rangoon and then rented a car with driver. It was
a Toyota Crown and the driver was a nice man in the fifties.

The roads were bad at that time so it took a long time (2 days) to go to Pagan that was our first goal.

But it was great, we were not in a hurry and it was a good way to see the country. We stopped when ever
we saw something interesting or for a drink or a bite.

After a couple of days in Pagan (great place) we headed for Inle Lake. We did not see many checkpoints and
we saw only one or two military vehicles during 10 days.

Trip to Inle Lake from Pagan took also 2 days and the views on the trip were fantastic. We met soo many nice people
and many of them spoke quite good English.

After a couple of days in and around Inle lake we were heading back to Rangoon and then back to BKK.

The whole trip was very pleasant and I want to make it again, maybe start in Mandalay and go north.

In Topic: Sony Slt A77

For you guys that bought the A77:

I have had the camera now for more than 6 months and I am very happy with the camera and the photos it produce.

BUT I have been struggling to understand all functions that I can use and to find all options that are there. The
instruction manual has some information but does not explain what happen when I choose this option or this option.

So a couple of days ago I googled to see where to find better information and found out that Gary L. Friedman has written
a book 'The Complete Guide to Sony’s Alpha 65 & 77 SLT Cameras
“The Friendly Manual with Professional Insights”'

So I downloaded the book, more than 570 pages, and now I have learned 10 times more about my camera in 3 days then I found
out struggling with the Instruction manual in 6 months. And I have only read the first 200 pages!

The book is not for total beginners in photography, it does not explain aperture, ISO etc, but it explain what options you
have in a very good way and also gives 'Recommended Settings' and a lot of good TIP's.

I have so far found and used so many more functions and also found out how to set up all options so that it is much more easy to
use the camera.

So I recommend this book to everyone that bought the A65 or the A77!

I like the first photo with the boat and the high island in the background. Very nice colors!  Maybe could been cropped a little bit on the left side.
