Been there mate along with hundreds of others who have read your post. Best advice I can give is get the book, sit with your wife and write the translation above each word your wife does not understand in Thai, It took me about 1 week with my wife going through each word translating. In most cases it takes around twelve weeks of 1-2 hours a day to learn the facts set out in the book. Do not buy the question book and learn the questions only, many girls thinking the short cut actually ended up taking the tests dozens of times till they got lucky !!This was purposely designed this way to also improve the English of the person taking the test. In my honest opinion this way is just as good as an Esol course in improving English speaking. Make it fun together, besides you will learn a few things you never knew yourself. Good luck !!

Have them translated buy a recognised translator and make sure all spelling is correct as Thai certificate/ passports shows. Once that's done then deposit the Original with the GRO (General Register Office) in Portsmouth or Southampton can't remember off hand. Once this has been done you can ask for a certified copy back from them which includes both the Thai and English marriage certificate embossed with a waxed seal of approval. This can then be added to your wife's citizenship application. Cost is around £55 from memory unless it's gone up. ...? Others may offer different advice but this is my personal choice !

Cuddlypete cos your already married you only have to count back 3 years from date of application no more than 270 days outside the uk in that time, and no more than 90 days in the last year !!

On the application form for citizenship question 1.22 states " I have passed the life in the UK test and attached confirmation, the test number is *********. So in answer to your question yes you do need the pass letter and test number and the Visa itself is not enough alone. You are expected to prove the pass yourself. Just as in all cases with any fresh application with Border or Immigration dont expect them to take what you think is for granted and the obvious. Good luck in finding it !!
