Pattaya City Fc - Training Sessions & Match Days

2012-03-14 14:02:58

Hi,

Pattaya City FC is an established local amateur expat football club playing in the MGMB International League, playing home games at the prestigious Thai Polo Club in Pattaya (you may have seen our match reports in the Pattaya Mail sports pages).

They hold training sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Horseshoe Point and would like to invite anyone to come along and participate, whether you wish to join the squad with a view to playing, or even if its just to get in shape. You don't therefore need to be fit, but it's an advantage if you're not hooked up to a dialysis machine Posted Image

The squad is currently made up of players of many ages & nationalities (up to 50+ years). Players are students, professional expats working on the Eastern Seaboard and also long term visitors to Pattaya. Some players from our 1st Team have progressed to play professionally in the Thai League, whilst others in the Reserves can still be found in Soi 6 sporting their favourite Beer Chang Vest & flip-flop ensemble.

If you are interested, or might know of someone who may be interested please feel free to get in touch, or visit their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pattayacityfc to see the matchday photos & fun stuff and ask any questions there.

Similarly, if you've hung up your boots or not interested in playing/training but would like to simply come along and watch the games, quaff a cold beer and talk football, you'll be made very welcome. It's a club with family values so you can bring the wife and kids along too. There's a really good social side to match days, it's a different way to spend a Saturday afternoon/early evening with the Polo Club providing a splendid backdrop to home games. A shaded seating area is provided, along with beer, soft drinks and food.

Cheers

Visa To Uk - Advice Please

2012-02-06 00:32:57

Hi fellas, there's some great advice on here and I've learned quite a bit just reading the threads, so thanks to all who have posted. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction with regards to the following;

I live and work here in Thailand. I've been with my wife for 7 years although only just got married last October (4 months). My wife's daughter is 10 years old and she lives with us too. I'm about to apply for both of them to go to the UK with me for a holiday in April to see my parents, whom they haven't met yet..Can I ask if anyone has any previous experience with taking a 'stepdaughter' and if we should be applying for a "family visit" type visa or just a general visitor? I am told (by a guy in a pub) that we have to make two separate applications for visas too, in which case do I need to be providing 2 lots of supporting documentation i.e showing evidence that I have known my stepdaughter for 7 years too? etc.

Sorry I know this all probably seems like a dumb question, I'm just trying to get my head around it all and would really appreciate any pointers

Thanks :)

Maps Of Pattaya

2011-12-29 21:31:36

I'm trying to find a map of the greater Pattaya Area (Banglamung Ampoe) specifically which shows the sub-districts and their boundary lines ie. Nongprue, Nonplalai,Takhiantia Huay Yai etc.. I've looked on Google maps but don't seem to show the actual boundary lines, although the sub-district centres are labelled. Would any of you decent chaps and lasses have any info in this regard, or where I could find one?

Another nerdy question if I may..; does anyone have a list of 'Moo' numbers for their corresponding sub-district? e.g Jomtien = Moo 12, Central Pattaya = Moo 10 etc.

*sigh*....making maps of bars and eateries is much more fun...

Thanks though for any help or pointers :)

Pattaya International Beach Football Tournament

2011-12-11 13:48:50

Just wanted to let you know that the beach football tournament is on again this year, starting on 16th December and running until 22nd December. It is held in the same place as previous years, on Jomtien Beach, between soi 8 & 9. This year there are 10 teams taking part; Thailand, England, Norway, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Ukraine, France, Tajikistan and Bangladesh. There are games played each day in the group stage, starting at around 4.40pm until 7.30pm. It's a popular event, with radio and TV coverage so if you haven't seen it before pop on your best chang vest and flipflops, get yourselves down there and watch a couple of the games, have a beer! If you're not keen on football, no worries as there's a cheerleader competition too, which provides a more traditional form of entertainment.

Back to the football, it's thought that last years' winners Norway have a good team again, as do the Thai's. The Irish are always a colorful lot and England have players who play in the MGMB Int'l League for Pattaya City FC and FC Planet. Not much known about Tajikistan addmittedly. Anyone?

I'll post the fixture lists and times on this thread in a bit.

Thankyou for reading this far down. Hope to see you there.  :)
