Dear all,

I am leaving Thailand for a year to go and work back in England and want to organise a kick-ass leaving party (in Bangers). Does anyone know of a good place to hold it that's not tooo expensive. I was going to have it at Sit Ne in soi ari but they've shut down.

The perfect venue should:

• have a bar selling reasonably priced beers (not a "let's all run up a huge tab and then argue over it" type place)
  
• have Room to dance and music to dance to
  
• be happy to stay open late

It could come in the form of

• A bar which is nicely kitted out but badly run so they have no customers (like Sit Ne was, that's why they've shut down)
  
• A nice place with a private room that they'll let us have for not too much
  
• Your mansion, that you have been desperately trying to find random people to throw parties in

Thanks for any help and suggestions that you may be able to afford me. I wanna make it really good.

I don't know who I'm more mad at, ThaiVisa or the British visa application place who just persist on making it more and more annoying to apply for British visas. My girlfriend just spent the entire morning preparing documents only to find out that she is not able to apply for a visa without making an appointment. She's going away tonight for 2 weeks.

I can understand having to make an appointment for an interview or to collect your visa, but just to give them the documents??? Surely you should be able to just drop them off. And who's policy is this? The company that makes bucket loads of money doing what the embassy is too lazy to do themselves? What if you lived far away? And shouldn't they notify people of this change?

And as for TV (and you guys usually do a great job!!!) why wasn't this sent around as "Breaking News"??? I would have thought that this is a significant enough change to warrant a mailing, did this happen and I missed it?

This is a long shot but I need to find a home for a naughty dog as I'm leaving Thailand.

I love her very much but every now and then my dog bites people. She's never given people more than a nip and only people who she thinks are threatening but still not cool. She does give great security, however. Also, she seems to only bite Thai people - ??? go figure???

Now I'm hoping to find someone who has an enclosed garden and would like to take on my slightly naughty dog. She actually has a fantastic personality and, as I said, only nips people she finds threatening and usually when she thinks they're threatening to us (her owners)

I know this doesn't exactly sound like the worlds best offer but I know she's make a great companion for the right person.
