Next to our house, our neighbor has rented his land and a restaurant/bar business has now been operating for several months. They play music in the evening (recorded and sometime live), and this is an annoying source of "noise pollution" (from 18h00 to 02h00).
Through discussion with the restaurant manager and the local authority, we have been able to negotiate an "almost" livable environment. However, Business is Business and the music volume will keep on increasing to attract customers, it can't be avoided.
I'm looking for hearing from you, innovative ideas/solutions that you may have/think of ... and which should be legal, and beside TIT, Move out, etc ...
So far, we have achieved:
- No more live band (except on special occasions, where a guitar and Singer would perform
- Lower regular noise, so that at least we can sleep
- Contacted Police and Local Authority (Tesaban)
Long term goal is to have the restaurant/bar closed, and like for this kind of business, it will ultimately, I just want to know how I can help the process.

Hot: Non-O Visa + Work Permit + One Stop Service Center For Visa
2010-10-27 18:04:42
I'm joining a new company and need to apply for a work permit.
I have been staying in Thailand on a non-O Visa for several years now(being extended several time based on Marriage).
Anyone with experience on applying at the One Stop Service Center for Visa, with this configuration?
The agency I'm dealing with, is telling me I really do need a non-B, which I do not think so.
Thanks.

Extension Of Stay (Thai Wife) New Requirements
2010-07-30 17:21:33
Last year, immigration informed us that there was a change in documentation required for an extension of stay (Thai Wife).
We married abroad and never took the time to register in Thailand.
It has never been a problem to use the certificate of marriage (in English) issue by the authority where we married, as part of our yearly extension process.
This year, they want to see a document: KOR ROR 22
Anyone could share their experience with getting this document (when married abroad).
Thanks

Two Days In Pak Chong: What To Do?
2010-07-26 20:09:47
I'm going for two days around Pak Chong and I'm running out of ideas on what to do there.
It's not the first time we go there, so looking for something new to visit.
Any suggestion on what to see, to visit and recommended place where to eat.
Thanks

Termination / Severance Pay For Sales People
2010-06-11 08:14:54
Two questions regarding Terminating an employee contract:
1: Sales People
Can you terminate a contract for a Sales Person who is under-performing (not meeting their quota) and not paying them any severance pay or less than required by Thai Labour Law (which amount would depend on employment duration).
2: Termination process
Usually for termination, the employee will actually be asked to resign, and at the same time, will be give their severance pay package.
What happen if the employee refuse to sign their resignation letter?
What happen next?
Thanks for your input.
Note:
I'm neither the employee or the employer, and no farang is involved.
