Of course I do. I believe in working at a relationship with an equal - it's not easy, and there may be lying and cheating and stealing, but far less than in a  case where love is reduced to a cash transaction. Call me old fashioned, but i think if you can 'win' someone you really like with your personality and chemistry and you mutually respect each other, it's more rewarding. And things don't end in violence. I've been in plenty of (failed) relationships - none of my bfs had to die. There was plenty of hurt on both sides, but none of it physical.

IMO a person that pretends to like someone for financial gain is a liar and a cheat, professional con merchants. They are trying to use a fast track method of obtaining some wealth rather than doing an honest day`s work, which in my book equals lazy.

What many of these women fail to understand is that they are playing with fire and messing with peoples emotions can be a dangerous profession.

Perhaps falling foul of some physco should be put down as an occupational hazard? Some you win, some you lose.

To the 'Thai women are all cheaters' crew: you can't buy love - or monogamy. You can't come to a country where sex is even more of a commodity than in your/our first-world countries and expect to buy a committed relationship from someone whose business it is to sell sex/companionship. Is this really not obvious? Edit: I wanted to add that there are plenty of opportunities for relationships with non-bar girls of many nationalities here and everywhere - why not try one!

To the 'I'm OK with this stabbing' crew: Stabbing someone is not an appropriate response to having your heart broken unless you are crazy. If it were, everyone in the world would be stabbed by now.

To the 'monogamy is unnatural' crew: who is forcing you to be monogamous? The person you chose to be in an exclusive relationship with? You can actually live your life as a single, polygamous entity, if you choose.

Some of the comments in this thread defy logic.

Wintermute, you don't give your gender much credit. I know plenty of great, funny, sensitive and strong men who aren't weak of character, stupid, nor easily manipulated by sex, and they've never had to raise a hand to a woman to be that way. All the best guys I know - whether 'bad boys' or sensitive nerdy types - don't feel the need to assert themselves, nor try to prove 'dominance' through physical force. I think it's more the other way around - only the jerks ever resort to violence or emotional abuse (this goes for all genders).

But then, you are just trolling, so +1 for that.
