Seriouseats -thanks for the feedback. Had another look at the website of Grace Gardens and found the rates for both Lantern and Sunnypoint. They are both starting 10K TBHT a day. I like the look of them but considering that we'll be leaving the pad at 7 in the morning and coming back just before the sun sets, I think we'll give this set-up a miss this time around. They would be perfect if we are in HKT for pure holiday bliss ! Looks like we'll just settle for Boat Lagoon. It can't be that bad ..... As long as there are decent eateries within walking distance - both Western and Thai ... and outlet for the odd Singha .....

First from main road to marina, its 1.4km
second, you can rent longterm for about 50,000 per month
and next to BIS they are many pool villas, very high class from 45 to 90 000 per month. There is one (the lantern) for 70 000, private pool , 3 or 4 story and private elevator.

FYI
You could get a villa just up the road in Thalang for a lot less.

Thanks all for the head's up. Could sort of form a picture now in my mind. Have decided to base ourselves in BL as we have something going on in BIS. The other alternative, i.e. RPM, is a bit on the high side with 2-room apt going for 9,000 TBht daily. I understand that the hotel in BL is a bit jaded but then, we ain't posh creatures of comfort
. Cheers all.

Reviving an old thread, sorry ...Is it walkable from Boat Lagoon to RPM ? Or does one have to hitch a tuk-tuk ??? Thanks.
