I just purchased a 500ml (16.67 fl.oz) bottle of Good Life oyster sauce.  Apart from the cleverly worded potentially misleading statement  'Oyster Sauce, 60% Less Sodium Formula' (only 30% Oyster Sauce content in reality), it contains 20% Sorbitol.

According to Wikkipedial Sorbitol is a sugar subsitute and it also occurs naturally in many stone fruits and berries from trees of the genus Sorbus.

Ingesting large amounts of sorbitol can lead to abdominal pain, flatulence, and mild to severe
diarrhea.  Sorbitol ingestion of 20 grams (0.7 oz) per day as sugar-free gum has led to severe diarrhea leading to unintended weight loss of 11 kilograms (24 lb) in eight months, in a woman originally weighing 52 kilograms (110 lb); another patient required hospitalization after habitually consuming 30 grams (1 oz) per day

Considering that the 16.67 fl oz bottle contains 3.334 fl oz of Sorbitol (20%)  does this mean that consuming 1 bottle over the period of about 5 days could lead to severe diarrhea.  Maybe the bottle should contain a health warning?

I travelled yesterday on the BRT bus line from Rama III bridge to Sathorn.

I can honestly say that this was the most unpleasant 30 min trip in my life. I was sitting in the back and the noise from the engine, transmission and road surface was so loud I could hardly hear the pre-recorded station announcements. My head was throbbing for several hours after this relatively short trip. Imagine the office workers who do this every day, No wonder so many counter staff are in such bad moods when you seek service.

Maybe this was a rogue bus?

If I ever use the service again I will definitely sit/stand in the front!

On the plus side it was cheap, only 10 baht!

I generally use wi-fi with my mobile at home and outside in bars and restaurants both in Thailand and UK (usually faster than 3G and HSPDA)

However there is one bar in Bangkok where I always get a connectivity error.  My phone shows that wi-fi has successfully connected but always get the error message when trying to access any site.

I assumed that there was an error with the restaurant wi-fi set-up but yesterday I checked with another customer and he was connecting successfully.

Any ideas???

I need to replace my pre-loaded anti-vrius software. I tried running ESETNOD 32 but this turned out to be free for 1 month only.

Maybe I just don't like the idea of paying about 50 USD a year for software that never seems to find any infected files on my computer.

Any current recommendations?
