yes the tourist police seem to have evolved into a elite force to hunt down bad (or not so bad) farangs with the
serve and protect the tourist and your first friend in thailand  tourist campaigns largely forgotten. they seem to
selectively chose what they want to act upon often ignoring blatant crime against tourists which occurs daily

those local hospitals are certainly getting their training in with stab wounds and bullet injuries
plenty of unattended motorbikes, why chose one with the driver present. my guess yaba user

"rife" is almost an understatement. it seems weekly the thai police are rounding up yet another group of scamsters
(if you follow news in local tabloids) they've arrested groups in phuket, pattaya, bangkok, chiangmai and no telling
where else for attaching false fronts to the atm machines (superglue, velro whatever) to obtain the cards magnetic
info and then using mirco cameras nearby to snoop and try and get pin numbers.it sounds like if you don't catch it at
the machine yourself, the bank doesn't even want to know about it. but it really is their machine to maintain isn't it?

i stayed at the "thai hotel" once on an overnight. think price was 300 or 350. you'll see it on list below. it was only about 1 kilometer from the
bus terminal. believe i actually walked it the following morning as tuk-tuks were apparently sleeping.

i think the story stated that reception staff had not obtained either the i.d. card or a copy of it. really silly in this day
and age that so many of these guesthouses/hotels still don't comply with the most rudimentary security procedures. and of
course no working cctv so image a rough image of the lass nobody has. and what? a room safe that can be opened with a screwdriver?
