Hi,
I've been back in the Uk for a few months now and not got around to claiming family allowance. My kids have passports, which we obtained whilst in Thailand, but no British birth certs. Has anyone any advice on how I go about getting them so that I can claim? I remember that when I was in Thailand it was said to be cheaper and easier to do in the Uk I just can't remember how to go about it.
Thanks

Sticky Rice Making Paraphanalia In Uk
2011-10-02 06:07:38
We relocated to the Uk a couple of months ago. We brought a lot of useful things with us and have found almost everything else is available here. However we forgot to bring the metal pot and wicker hat thing for making sticky rice. I'm sure it must be available somewhere I'm just not sure where. Has anyone any idea where i might find one? I'm sure London will have them in China town, but living in the north east I won't be getting there any time soon.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Ratio Of None Thai Men To Women Here?
2011-07-14 16:04:40
Since moving to Pattaya I've noticed a number of western women who look to have settled here. Nothing like the number of men of course but a few. I just wondered what are the figures and if very many couples settle here.
Thailand Clamping Down On Crazy Traffic Habits?
2011-07-10 15:57:25
For the past few months I've noticed lots and lots of bill boards and signs informing of zero tolerance towards traffic violations. These show a traffic cop making an awkward 'zero' with his fist. I've seen them in Rayong and Pattaya.
Today I was surprised to see a sign offering a 500 baht fine for anyone driving three to a motorcycle. This was in Pattaya. Can it be true? What about the 7 people to a home made sidecar?
Has anyone else noticed these signs or seen anyone actually be stopped for the everyday act of riding 3 on a bike?

Can A Thai Get An International Driving License
2011-06-29 21:05:23
We are soon to leave Thailand for the Uk. Before we go my wife would like to get an international driving license. The last time she got one from Bangkok. This time we would rather not bother with a trip there if unnecessary. Is it possible to get one in Pattaya, and if so how?
Thanks.
This could be better in the General section.
