I have used my Thai drivers licence many times when crossing into Burma with VIP pass. Last time was about 3-4 weeks ago. For some reason Burma immigration will not accept US currency $10 dollars when entering with VIP pass but they will accept US currency when officially entering the country with passport/stamp Etc. A few months ago the Duty free shop on the bridge renovated the interior and now have a wider selection of single malt whiskeys, Etc.
BTW, Have bought many bottles of excellent wines and spirits in Taichalek for years and never once had a problem with a knockoff.

Had alot of good times with Tony both on and off the golf course. He was a big personality with an even bigger heart. Always willing to help out, especially with a suffering golf swing. I had a few sunset cocktails with him at the village bar a few nights ago. Hard to believe I will never see his trademark blue truck at the village bar again, it was always a welcome sight.
Rest in Peace Tony, you will not be forgotten.

Marriage extension and Retirement extension
Concerning the 400,000 or 800,000 Baht deposit requirement for marriage or retirement extension. Why can't the money required be in a long or short term certificate of deposit as opposed to a standard passbook savings account ?
Thanks

Sven
Try Han's deli behind DaVinci. He has a nice Gorgonzola for I think a reasonable price. The only problem is my son loves it and wolfs it down b4 I get a chance. Back to the mall. I Ike it and look forward to the Cinaplex getting some decent movies, not to mention the incredible scenery that is all free.
