An aspect overlooked in this discussion is that paying a higher wage will lead to more domestic consumption (spending).
Thailand needs to strengthen this aspect of its economy to become less reliant on global demand for cheap products.
Adapting to the fickle nature of manufacturing (e.g., companies relocating elsewhere) is just part of this change.

What about Dengue Fever? It's already been declared an epidemic. Logic would deduce it will become worse?

The is a orthopedic foot specialist -- Dr. Cherdpong -- at BNH Hospital (Silom Soi Convent). I went to him for an exam and found him to be very competent. They make custom orthotics right in his office.

The ligament on the inside of the knee is called the MCL, or medial collateral. If your problem is just an injury, the MCL is the only knee ligament that will heal on its own with conservative care. Takes awhile, though.
The MRI will show the etent of damage to some degree. If you have a serious problem (e.g., torn cartilage, ACL damage), arthroscopic surgery allows the surgeon to get a clear look at what the problem is, and fix it. This surgery is not that big a deal, or expensive, if this is what you need.
IMHO, I would trust orthopedic surgeon Dr. Panya at Bumrungrad with my first born if it were necessary.

Everyone was very pleasant & helpful!
Security wise, it's like a visit to San Quentin, though.
