Looking for recommendation(s) for an effective and efficient English to Thai translation service.
Have tried contacting a few in the classified section herein who either don't answer requests to their ads or don't seem to provide working phone numbers!
Suggestions welcome either here or by PM if preferred.

Cosmetic Distributor Question
2011-07-18 21:41:44
Hi, first thank for your reply earlier about importation of medical devices.
Now oddly another import query, its my long weekend for them
We have a client, a Thai company which holds the FDA approvals for a cosmetic range, but is not contractually a formal distributor.
A customer in Thailand is saying that "the rule" is they must buy from the Thai company [(as a local distributor] ) not from the foreign source, even if the approval process works (and they pay more i.e. VAT etc.). The client has successfully imported orders for other customers, of this range, into Thailand before. Is this a FDA "rule", a customs "rule" or just a "customer" rule?
TIA

Ata Carnet Query
2011-07-14 21:49:28
Hi,
Please advise. Have an individual [a Doctor] who wishes to bring a couple of medical devices to Thailand for a seminar. One version is approved by the Thai FDA, the other not yet, it is in progress.
Can he apply for a Carnet for the unapproved one?
Presume with the approved one he has to work with the approval holder in Thailand to set up the Carnet for that one prior to arrival?
Lead time for that?
Thanks in advance.

Commercial Import Calculations

Anyone help with this, since I'm a tad confused. It appears looking at the website that VAT is charged by Thai Customs on the CIF + duty + [sundries] figure. Is that correct?
We are considering bringing in products which fall under the 30% [cosmetics] band, so this apparent tax on a tax is not insignificant.
Is this correct?
Are there other issues we should be considering on this?
Regards & TIA

B Visa 90 Days In Country Calculation
2010-12-28 07:20:49
Just tried search but it doesn't love me.
One of these quick questions for the more knowledgeable or certain. On a 1 year multi-entry B visa 90 days is calculated with the date of arrival as day 1 I believe, so if a colleague arrived on 19 October 2010 they must leave on or before 16 January 2011. Is that correct?
TIA
