My internet is so slow I can't get google maps up most of the time. Here it is amatter of type in notes cut and paste when I get a signal post,  Easy way to figure out where I am is to go to maps find the Thai/Lao/ Cambodia border [Emerald triangle] From cambodia follow the Lao border north for around 50km . Or google ban sang hom issan. Jim

Jim, This map is based on information you gave earlier in the thread. Is it correct? If so it may be of help to others trying to find you. WF

Welcome back to LOS, everything sounds perfectly normal!

We, (TW and I) would be happy to make it on 7th July despite the fact that you seem to live out in the boondocks on the edge of nowhere. WF

For quite some time now I've been looking around Chiang Mai for good black soil.  I realize that most of Southeast Asia is either sand or clay, so finding black soil is a challenge.  I'm interested in only a few +/-20-kg bags, but the only thing that I have managed to buy are bags of mostly ground charcoal (which is very messy to work with), peanut shells, rice chaff, and coconut husks.

Some have suggested making my own compost, but I don't care to take the time or effort; moreover, I don't have any place to locate a compost pile.  Has anyone been able to buy real black dirt?  I guess I'm spoiled coming from farm country in Minnesota.

Hi Mr Brad,

Wormcastings will give you the best ever black soil, we can send to you by post or if you want more than our standard 5 kg bag we can send in 20kg or 40kg bags by transport company, far cheaper than post. If you want any PM me or contact me on our website for Penn Worm Farm  (see my profile for URL)  Cheers WF.

Khao Yai National Park - lots of nature and some good restaurants, the Smoke House is excellent.
