#5340629 Death Of The Death Hotel

It appears that all the evidence is litually being sweeped under the carpet, or in this case, descretely cleared away. The name of the game is, out of sight, out of mind and than forgotten.

Was there ever a thorough investigation? Did the foreign offices of the national’s concerned pressure the Thai authorities to conduct an investigation? Has anyone been brought to book over this? Have any of the victims families received justice? Somehow I doubt it.

This is all about cover-ups and what’s bad for business. Not many would want to stay in a hotel where a multitude of guests have died, so better to knock it down and start again, perhaps by the same outfit that owned the Downtown Inn?

Lots of questions with little or no answers, extremely tragic and sad for the innocent victims and their families, who have lost loved ones with no chance of receiving compensation or any answers as to why and how.

A totally disgusting state of affairs.

Your post is disgusting. They have had a final report. It included help from the World Health Organization and has posted several times already

The sign out front says it is to be torn down and replaced in two to three years.

On the contrary I find your post most offensive! The whole affair is a whitewash, but there again we are in Thailand....

I think it's a very good idea to have a get together. I have made some long lasting friends through Thai Visa get-togethers.

I would have joined you guys (wherever you end up) but am currently in Bangkok and won't be returning till the middle of next week.

Maybe next time , I'm sure it will be a success.

Have fun

BTW, assuming people will end up at a more Thai oriented place, some effort will need to be made to keep track of bins.

Thai people would rarely get individual tabs, at some point everyone chips in towards a communal tab.  Farangs mostly don't work that way, especially when everyone drinks different things in different quantities.   That's actually my theory of why the official Thaivisa pissups tend to be free, because the headache of keeping 83 tabs from 83 drunk Farangs apart is just not worth it. ;)

Slow cooker - definition.... A Thai wok chef faced with serving a large group of people 10 different meals.

Well, you without the tags you can be a little more selective in who you introduce yourself to.   There is some serious bad blood out there as you can see regularly, and no shortage of psycho-nutters.

I do agree and I have chatted to quite a few around CM who dislike this person or that person on TV and are quite angry it may all be hot air but who knows?

Filled in 'off course', if the woof-woofs let me.

Always enjoyed meeting some familiar and new faces of Thaivisa. Posted Image

I would appreciate it if some remembrance time can be given to some great people who passed away in the last few years. Thinking of people like Buckwheat, p1p, Blinky Bill, Dustoff ...

Guess nothing would stop someone from using someone else's handle on their nametag!

Thai Visa used to have members sign in to their accounts at the door and then give you a printed name tag. Otherwise there would have been about 30 members claiming to be George.

One of the best thing about these parties was running into Blinky Bill. He will be missed.

Should had taken note the number plates of the songthaew transporting the mattress. Truck bed might catch something nasty
Doesn't make sense that a business like that would use songtaews for removals.
